Recommended by locals, we stayed two nights at the Inn in Jim Thorpe. The room was nicer than expected and the location is great. There's a New Orleans-style balcony on the second floor where we ate a take-out dinner and people watched. Legend has it the place is haunted, which added to the fun. Just outside the hotel are several nice shops and good restaurants. A walk around town is interesting and appealed to the photographer in us. A short drive away is the Number 9 Coal Mine. The tour there is unique, educational and amazing, and we highly recommend it.

We checked into the inn at Jim Thorpe. We were lucky enough to get their best suite. It was more like an apartment. Wonderful newly decorated rooms, great location. The whole town was friendly and welcoming

My husband and I satyed for 3 nights at the Inn end of July bebinning of August. My husband is from the area and we opted not to stay with family but to have a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the Inn. staff were friendly and accomadating. The breakfast was good and with the vouchers only came to about 7$/day. We enjoyed visiting the sights around the area. I toured them many years ago as a child but not as an adult. Thereisn't too much to do though. Perfect weekend or 3 day escape. I have only one complaint and that is we had 2 skylights in the room and as soon as the sun came up it was wayyy to bright in the room. They were covered but with those very cheap mini blinds that let light through. So if you like to sleep in a little then don't get a room with skylights!

Room Tip: Nice weekend stay

Our fourth stay at the Inn , first time with our kids/grandchild ( 31,29,26,25,12) . Went for a thurs-sun stay and KLK arranged for my wife and I to stay at the Inn and our kids to stay in the the 2bdrm apt at 55 broadway (room 5521). Upon arrival Jim made sure everything was in order for our entire stay. As always the rooms were beautiful, clean and ready for you to move in! We love the suites with the extra living area that includes the whirlpool, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee and a table with chairs. Our kids loved the 2 bedroom apartment, complete with a full sized kitchen w/appliances and a full size washer and dryer! The living room has a pull out bed along with a cot. Their apartment had a door to a balcony that they shared with one other room. The renovations and the creation of the Braodway grill at the Inn has added just another pleasure to the Inn. The food is very good along with the service! The second floor balcony at the Inn is one of our favorite places to sit and rock the day or night away! There is so much to do in Jim Thorpe! Since this was the first trip for our kids, we took the white water rafting trip (loads of fun- we use Pocono white water rafting- they have great people working for them), train ride, toured the prison and the no. nine coal mine. Next trip will include the bike ride, tour of the Asa Packard house and the St. Mark's Church (beautiful!). So much to do in the area and always a beautiful place to return to each day! Jim Thorpe is a beautiful town and is very safe to walk the streets. We have never observed any "problems" during our 4 visits. If there is one "negative" about the town, it would be the motorcyles that ride through town occasionally- what is it about these people that makes them think that everyone else wants to hear their loud mufflers and music?

Our first trip to the Inn was quite a few years ago. It was nice to see a few upgrades added but the Inn was still "old world" and peaceful. We enjoyed the game room at night and the quiet walks around town during the day. We even went to a wine tasting before we rode our bikes around. The town is still as beautiful and peaceful today as it was 10 years ago. We will go back again.

My wife and I stayed at the Inn at Jim Thorpe in high summer. We enjoyed the town and the surroundings. The waterfalls in the Lehigh Gorge were not easy to reach, but were worth the effort. And don't miss the Jim Thorpe monument across the river to get an appreciation for one of America's great sports heros. The Inn itself is comfortable, and convenient. We had no trouble parking, and we enjoyed our first floor room with balcony. The breakfast was ample, and we could eat outside at a romantic table for two. The room and bath were clean and well-maintained, with a number of small but appreciated touches i.e. complimentary waters in the fridge. Thanks Inn at Jim Thorpe! We'll be back.
