Great diving, great food, great staff! Wonderful warm water diving and great viz. the Day Trip was really fun and interesting. Interesting and non-threatening wildlife; beautiful blooming native hibiscus and orchids. Low-key, relaxing, non-tourist-y.

Room Tip: Asking for a room closer to the main Great Room area might be helpful - less walking distance.

Review is a bit late but this was the best holiday my wife and I have had. It's not a typical holiday resort which is why it suited us perfectly. Diving is outstanding, you have your own space but also time with the other guests. Food is excellent and the owners are great. We definitely want to return - thanks heaps!!!! A typical day is wake up, breakfast, dive, lunch, read a book for an hour under the thatched verandah, dive, eat, sleep and do it all again the next day. Met some terrific people, terrific locals, did some stunning dives and got some great photos!

Great food fresh fish, lobster, crab, chicken and heaps of magnificent local fruit. Convenient diving.Diving consists of drifts, wall, reef. All dives not too deep 30 metres max. and boat trips only 30 minutes unless you do the full day trip which to the upright wreck and Penguin reef. This day trip is to be recommended for the four very different dives you do. If you don't dive then the snorkeling is top class on a protected reef. You might see mantas ( we did) Or you can kayak. Its a great place to relax, expensive but worth it. Very experienced owner/managers ensure that everything you need is organised and available.

Room Tip: all rooms seemed nice. Ones back from the water were elevated and, i think, larger although with lim...

The SCUBA experience was incredible. So many things that we had never seen before and very experienced guides who made sure that nothing was missed. Imagine seeing at least one pygmy seahorse on every dive!

Wow what a place. Have been to some very special places in my travels, this would have to be one of the highlights.
What more could you want than the perfect remote location, no-frills accommodation (with everything you need), best house reef for snorkelling, sensational diving, the perfect hosts, like minded guests, and the food.... ahh the food. Will remember the final night Coral Trout for a long while.
Won't wax lyrical on too much as will be basically echoing the comments of everyone else.
Don't come expecting the Intercontinental or a Club Med.
Didn't think I would necessarily enjoy the group dining at breakfast or dinner, however it was great to share experiences of the day and travel stories.
Well done to Jill and Grant for creating a little paradise in the Solomon Islands.

As I write this we are stuck in Honiara after the terrible devastation of the floods that have killed too many and made '000's more homeless. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected, and our voices call out to AUS and NZ to send troops to help clear the debris and repair infrastructure.

Room Tip: We had cabin 2 right on the lagoon. The only downside was it only had one hammock :) I was too lazy...

Just got back from our honeymoon, stayed 4 nights at the Uepi resort. Snorkeling is amazing on the untouched reef with the sharks and many colours of fish & coral. Its all so peaceful and relaxing, the location is beautiful! Was very impressed with the resort the minute we stepped off the boat onto the welcome jetty. The owners of the resort Jill and Grant are lovely and made us very welcome from the beginning. Food was scrumptious, particularly liked having lunch served at our accommodation so we could sit and relax on our verandah taking in all the stunning views. Dinner was also very good 3-4 course meal served by the lovely staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the company of the owners and other guests so we could all talk about the days events! Our accommodation was very spacious, big king size bed and very comfortable. Very enjoyable stay!

Been to Uepi lots of times in the past 12 or so years, twice in 2013. We are a small family with two pre-school age children and for us, Uepi is never less than fabulous. The most relaxing and yet engaging holiday we can ever hope to find. The simplicity of the resort is absolutely perfect for the location, with truly wonderful local style gardens, thousands of tropical flowers, and lots of wildlife. The rainforest is a magical place to explore, and the kids love playing in the lagoon under the shady trees, building sand castles, chasing mudskippers, watching baby sharks practice herding up the teeny fish schools, and hand feeding the schools of the 'cheeky fish'. Then there's paddling and kayaking out on the lagoon, spotting big turtles and elegant tawny sharks and always hopeful for the dugong. No toys needed!

Food and service lovely. It's impossible to eat seafood anywhere else now after being spoilt by two-hour-old sashimi, lobster straight from the reefs and mud crabs, fish and tropical fruit with flavour that simply doesn't exist at home. My four year old will eat more coral trout than any adult at the table! And important to mention the most unbelievable creme caramels I have found anywhere in the world (thanks Juki).

Then there's the underwater scene which - by all reports from the seriously serious and travelled divers who frequent Uepi - is among the best in the world. The more we go, the more we see. And you don't need to dive, you'll see plenty on snorkel. It's addictive, and the kids will stay in the water for hours watching - lion fish, pipefish, nemos, sharks, even darting trevally, octopus, and sea horses (and that's just at the dive jetty!). Kudos to Jill, Grant, and the Uepi team who actively protect what is effectively a private marine reserve around the island. They work hard to ensure that the reefs are healthy and pristine and the size, volume and variety of the fish life is testament to this. We even heard of Jill once leading a very successful rescue mission during a coral bleaching event years ago, and saving (by hand) thousands of corals!

Highly recommended, so wonderful on so many levels. We'll keep on heading back so long as Team Uepi will have us!
