Tucked away from the interstate, this motel is close to it, yet quiet. Rooms are accessible from the inside and are large. The heat / AC is very powerful and can be set for intermittent or full time, the first I have seen like that. The beds are high off the floor and very comfortable.
The TV is a 27” CRT, which is pathetic in 2014, and my remote barely worked. The selection of channels is, however, excellent.
The closet is large, too large in fact because it reduces the counter space for the sink. The bathroom is very large and has the now-ubiquitous curved shower rod. The toiletries were good, but not the towels. A bathroom in another room with the shower running was deafening.
There is very little sound insulation. I could hear the TV in the room next door very clearly, which is shocking given the recent construction of this building.
I will think twice before staying here again. I liked almost everything about it (the breakfast was excellent) but the TV and thin walls.
Scooper47’s top tips: 1. Do not accept a room ending with a 00 number. It is right across the hall from a very loud elevator.
2. You are very close to a Wendy’s for your dining pleasure. Prepare yourself now.
3. Motels on the I-81 corridor are not worth the added cost on Friday and Saturday nights. Plan your trip accordingly.
