“elegant and delicious interlude before the show”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Our waiter was excellent, a pleasant sense of humor, knowledge of the food, and efficiency in serving. We enjoyed an interesting and delicious meal in the serenity of the bright setting where we enjoyed the views of the beautiful Longwood Gardens

“Garden Delight!”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

I recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this superb restaurant. We were first served a warm brioche with butter while we consulted the nicely balanced menu of locally produced farm to table items along with both seafood and meat choices. I chose a pan seared salmon with corn and tomato confit while my friend picked a five cheese plate. We each had a glass of wine. The service was prompt but not rushed and they offered a local amuse-bouche tidbit of chopped cucumber resting in a grape tomato. The quiet ambience was enhanced by the view of tall trees outside. Outdoor patio seating is also an option.

“5-star food and service in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

1906 offers an imaginative mix of main dishes, exquisitely prepared and served in an elegant setting. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. On a recent visit my wife had the scallops, which she said were the best that she has ever had. I had the crab cakes, which were equally as good. No filer. All lump crab! The 1906 restaurant is located in the middle of beautiful Longwood Gardens. If you are looking for fine dining you cannot go wrong with 1906. Don't pass on the mushroom soup. It is the best you will ever find. Kennett Square is after all the mushroom capital of the world.
