Anyone that would go to Subway when Sam's exists deserves their boring life! Get the special Italian and live the dream!

Just go. You can thank me later. They also make fantastic breakfast sandwiches with sausage and egg or scrapple and egg. YUM!

Whether you call them subs or hoagies, Sam's is hard to beat. My favorite is the Italian, and they slice the meat and cheese for each sandwich order. It's a lot of sub, too. Very easy to share (although it's so good, you don't want to). The service is always friendly, too. A great local sub shop.

Sam's is a small sub shop, open for breakfast and lunch, closing at about 3 pm. It's on State Street, about 2 blocks east of the main corner in Kennett Square, a block east of La Michoacana ice cream shop, and just down the street from the Post Office and public library.

The subs are huge and excellent. Prices are a little higher than most sub shops, but you're getting both quantity and quality for the slightly higher price.

The shop is family-owned. The husband and wife are almost always there. The service is friendly and quick.

There's one small table, so this is really a shop for carry-out.
