The staff here was very friendly and helpful - which worked to their advantage, 'cause I was only going to buy a mushroom soup mix. Ended up buying two different types of fresh mushrooms, dried mushroom soup mix, and marinated mushrooms. They have a small museum with videos - very short ones. A lovely store with all kinds of mushroom related items. Got two recipe brochures and much info about how to cook the mushrooms I bought. Sisters and I all enjoyed it very much. Well worth the time to visit. Just off route one.

Nicely done video about how mushrooms grow and are harvested. Many types of mushrooms on display.
Gift shop sells many unique Mushroom items as well as wonderful frozen Mushroom Soup to take home and heat up.
Fun and informative place to visit just a few miles from downtown Kennett Square, PA

If it's exotic varieties of mushrooms you're seeking, check with the Woodlands. Get yourself on their mailing list and you'll be notified when they're about to receive a shipment of fresh porcini, hen-of-the-woods or trumpets.

The old home is renovated as a unique gift shop. They do sell fresh mushrooms including specialty types. They put in a large kitchen to do mushroom cooking demonstrations once a month. There is a shed with a free museum. They have video tapes of the entire process of mushroom farming. You could watch for 2 hours. This is more for adults since it is more technical. You can see a few samples of the specialty mushrooms growing in soil.I don't know of any other mushroom museum in Kennett Square. They have a website that will show you the free cooking classes.

The shop and the kitchen where they do the demonstrations are in an old nicely restored home that has a beautiful view of the farm from the porch. The sales women are friendly, knowledgable, and gracious. There is a small mushroom museum with exhibits of growing mushrooms. They have all kinds of mushrooms and mushroom products - coffee, figurines, dip mixes, etc. But the wide variety of VERY fresh mushrooms are the best.
