I must admit when I first tried the new Kennett Square coffee shop I wrote a review so horrible that I had to stop myself from submitting it and now I'm glad that I hesitated. While I still believe that each drink and most of the food is grossly overpriced, the atmosphere is amazing! Philter is now my go to place for work especially with it's free wifi, although I refuse to buy more then one drink and one food item. The lattes and croissants are personal favorites although you might as well go run errands while they make the latte because it takes so long especially if the owner is present. However, they're delicious so it almost makes up for the wait. As long as you don't get into a conversation with the often absent minded and chatty employees you'll be free to take your time sipping your drink and enjoying the best atmosphere in Kennett Square.

It's expensive, but each cup is brewed individually. Since I take my coffee black, I went for the their least expensive coffee which was a sumatra. For $2.75 I had the best flavored coffee in a very long time. The flavor was so rich and smooth that I was still talking about it to my husband and some other friends days later! The ambience is also great.

Kennett Square is lucky to have Chris and staff brewing their superb artisanal coffees plus great soups, sandwiches, etc. What an awesome place!
