The canal era is an almost-forgotten part of American history. This bridge preserves a small part of that era. Make sure to allow enough time to cross the bridge on foot before crossing in your vehicle. The upstream and downstream views from the middle of the bridge are just beautiful.

Saw this bridge when I canoed down the Delaware as a teen. It's a fascinating story and great monument to a tremendous engineer.

It was difficult to find this bridge from Hawley, Pa but after many twists and turns we found Lackawaxen where the Roebling Bridge was located. I had never heard of this type of bridge so it was interesting to read about the history of the bridge and the aqueduct. We walked across the bridge which was exciting as we crossed from Pa. to NY in about three minutes. We stopped and watched the kayakers, rafters, and canoe go under the bridge on the Delaware river. If you are fan of Zane Grey, this is his hometown and there is a museum near the bridge about his life. We did not go into the museum.

This bridge is pretty neat. It is a quick stop and easy to cross, even though it is only one lane. It is also historical, since it was designed by the same person who designed the Brooklyn Bridge.

Such a quick stop, so it should not be missed!
