I recently stayed here during hotel renovations and the staff was wonderful. They were working with only 2/3 of the hotels rooms being available during a busy Swim meet weekend and the did everything possible to meet our teams needs. They found doubles/Kings as needed, opened the breakfast room earlier since our swimmers needed to be at the pool early in the AM, had printed directions ready for the drive to the Franklin and Marshall pool. THANK YOU .We will be back again next year!

Room Tip: King Suites have nice sofa area and second TV plus Frig and Microwave.

We have stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Mariott in Lancaster, PA a number of times, the most recent of which was in April, 2012, when we found the hotel in the midst of a much needed major renovation. This is a motel-ish facility with a small lobby, The rooms are somewhat small, but clean. If all you need is a place to spend the night with no frills, this place will do. By the time this is published, all of the rooms will probably have been renovated, so you will be staying in a new room. The staff is friendly and competent and the location is good, a couple of miles from downtown Lancaster. There is a continental breakfast that is fair, but be sure to arrive before it ends at 10 am as the staff quickly whisks the breakfast away. We chose this hotel because of its location, cost and the quality of the facility. This is a good value for this area.

It's being remodled and the Rooms were spotless. Considering the reports of bedbugs in lancaster I was very happy to see all new beds and carpets. It was a good average hotel. The front desk staff were nice.

A recent business trip had me stay at the Marriott Fairfield in Lancaster. Good location for getting around the miriad of roads in the area. I was fortunate to have a renovated room that was very comfortable. However, while I was there the place was under going a complete rennovation. They should have figured out a way to keep the construction traffic out of the main lobby during the morning hours. I know I was not the only one irritated to have to wait for the elevator because the construction crews tied up the only elevator for very long periods of time. Furthermore, the staff should have spent some time explaining the extent of the noise, traffic and inconvenience we were to encounter during the visit. They were pleasant, but did not go out of their way to accomodate anyone for the inconvenience. I might give this place a pass if you are planning on visiting any time soon. I think once the renovation is completed you could give it a try---just double check it is done before you book the room.

Room Tip: Wait until the renovation is completed before staying.

The hotel was an "average" experience, primarily because it was UNDER EXTENSIVE RENOVATION during my stay. Even the stairwells were affected. The upgrade to the place was definitely needed. The breakfast is also average... with typical, regular, tasteless offerings. The Staff, once again, was average. Again, nothing to write home about.

Room Tip: Ask if they have completed their renovations.

To me, what is important in a hotel is that the room is clean and quiet, the bed is ok and that the shower works. Anything more is nice but not absolutely necessary.
I don't care about outdated fixtures or how many channels the TV has. The wireless works well.
The lobby sits ok but the ice machine and the vending machine are competing for the loudest noise. WHY do they need to be in the lobby?

I love staying at Marriott properties but was truly disappointed in Fairfield Inn. This hotel needs to be renovated and updated quickly as it does not have a "Marriott" feel. From the one tiny elevator to the stained towels to the front desk asking me to come downstairs for more towels (when I called to request extra) was unacceptable. I will never stay at this hotel again.
