We just got back from a four night stay at Eden Resort and had a blast. The staff is friendly, grounds and rooms were beautiful, and the Sunday Brunch was excellent, as usual!
The ONLY problem I have is the same as I had last year, the music they play at the pool area is mind numbingly depressing!! apparently it is on a loop and I heard the same songs over and over (example, Luka by Suzanne Vega, a song about child abuse for crying out loud, not something upbeat I want to hear pool side!!!) that's the only thing I can find wrong and of course, that is a matter of opinion, maybe some people like to be depressed at the pool! (lol!)

We took our first family trip to Lancaster last year and loved the Eden Resort. You really can't find a place better equipped for young families.

This year we stayed in a two story villa. It was well worth the money to have a kitchen, multiple bathrooms and room for the kids to play. I might bring a baby gate next time only because the stairs feel a little steep. The rooms were clean and housekeeping did a good job each day, which we appreciated. The kids loved having their own room and bathroom and we loved that we didn't have to go to sleep around 8 p.m. with them since they had their own room! The nice thing about the villas is you can easily order takeout from a hotel restaurant or the Carabbas or Outback across the street, allowing you to avoid sit down service at a restaurant after your kids have had a tiring day.

I still feel like this is the best hotel in the Lancaster area if you're wanting a real vacation. We visited Dutch Wonderland and the Strasburg Railroad, but also spent a lot of time at the hotel's water area for kids.

The only downside this year was our room location. We were in the building closest to the highway and the noise from the road made it difficult to sleep. I've stayed in plenty of hotels adjacent to highways, but for some reason the road noise was unusually loud. I don't know if the buildings could use better insultation or what, but try to request a room away from the road if you're booking a villa.

My daughter-in-law, my two grandsons and I recently spent a night here in July prior to going to Hershey Park. My husband and I were really impressed with the hotel last year so I knew it was a great place for kids. We were not disappointed. The boys loved the children's water play area and the free ice cream in the lobby. Last year, I was not impressed with the restaurant but this year the food seemed a bit improved. The breakfast buffet is very nice. This is a great, fun place to stay with kids! (Adults love it too!)

Room Tip: If you are bringing your kids, ask for a ground floor room.

We stayed at the Best Western Eden for two nights and loved it. Our room was clean and we enjoyed the balcony overlooking the indoor pool. Everyone who worked there had a smile on and was very friendly. My children enjoyed the free ice cream. The outdoor pool area was our favorite. It is perfect for both children and adults. The pool hours were great and we could enjoy the pool after a day out. This is our second year visiting the Eden Resort and we plan to return again next year., It isn't very far away, but it makes us feel like we were on a tropical vacation away from home.

Other than being crowded and it taking a long time to check in (this was made up for with free ice cream, water and lemonade) and a small wait for the room to be ready (we were free to start using the ammenities which we did) everything about this hotel was excellent.
Our kids loved both the indoor and outdoor pools. In the evening, they even gave out free popsicles pool side. Also, it was great that you can order food and drinks to be delivered to you poolside. There were plenty of chairs to sit at even when the pool was packed. It was very hot during our stay and many people were taking advantage of the pools. My young boys loved being able to play ping pong, basketball and golf as well as play on the playground.
The room was spacious and nice. We got an average sized room, next time we will get a suite, the price for those seemed very reasonable. I was happy to have an in room refrigerator and microwave.
The breakfast buffet was good for a family, the kids were happy with the choices and liked being able to watch tv while we ate. The other meals were what I expected and the price was reflective of the quality of food. The dinner buffet wasn't quite as nice as the breakfast one, but it was what you would expect at the buffet. Everyone who worked there was very nice and responded to my requests quickly. It seems that arriving at the check in time of 3 is not the best time to come, by 5 o clock the lobby was quiet and no lines.

Room Tip: The suites are not that much more money per night, and for families it might be a good deal.

After reviewing quite a few hotels on Tripadvisor, we decided to go with the Eden Resort by Best Western. Usually we would stay away from Best Western if it weren't for the "good" reviews posted here. We arrived at the resort at 3 pm on 7/25/12. The reception area appeared quite busy. We were told that the rooms were not ready for anyone and that we would be "pre-registered." I provided a phone number as requested so that the staff could advise when the room was ready. At 3:40pm we again walked into the resorts reception area and was told "I think you were contacted to inform you your room was ready." After showing the lady "Sue" that I had not received any calls she provided us with our room keys. The room (2nd floor/2 bedroom/three queen beds) was adequate for our needs (family of five, three kids ages 2-11). After removing the standard bed covers on one of the beds, we noticed a wet brownish stain on the white quilt. We immediately contacted the staff who arrived within minutes to replace the sheets. The gentleman from room service was friendly and inquired as to if the maids left dirty sheets on the bed. I replied that they apparently had. The man replied that he was tired of doing the maids work and someone would have to answer for it. We also noticed that non of the trash cans had any liners (small problem). The following day, liners were left in the cans. The second day, we noticed a "corn chip" smell on the second bedroom queen bed (living room). We inspected the sheets and discovered that the quilt was funky. We removed the quilt and slept without it. The following morning we discovered the same bed did not have a mattress protector like the other two beds. This should be STANDARD. At night a sign is posted stating that quiet time starts at 10pm.. Seems like a lot of people ignore this. Around midnight, the noise in the hallway is still existent. Being on the second floor, you also hear the noise from the floor above. We ended up checking out a day early to return home.

The children's water area outside is very nice. It kept the kids entertained. There is a high level of chlorine as is expected for public pools. The problem I noticed was that many kids slipped and fell (including mine). There are two areas with non-slip protection while the rest of the area is very slippery concrete. Kids run from the non-slip to the little wading pools separated by the concrete. Very dangerous!!!!!!!.

The food from Garfields was average. We ordered out on the last day there. The cob salad was overpriced as it certainly was not prepared good. It was covered in dressing and consisted of more olives than tomatoes etc...... The pizza had one piece of green pepper per slice.

The indoor pool wasn't too bad. We wanted to use the fitness area but due to it being located by the indoor pool, the smell of chlorine inside the room was overwhelming. People used the door to the fitness area as an exit/entry into the hallway of the hotel.

Overall, the Lancaster area was a great area to visit and we will definitely be back, just not to the Eden Resort. Hopefully your stay will be better than ours.
