Having been to Penn Dutch often, had come to believe that there wasn't a 'bad' hotel in the area.
I was most certainly wrong.
This hotel has certainly seen better days.
Windows were dirty going into the lobby, which should have rung a caution bell.
Hotel is bordered by the town public works yard behind, and next door to a loud and unpleasant construction site where a building of some kind was being erected...
Was assigned a tiny room on the third floor facing the construction site.
Elevator was dirty, loud and had diamond plate on the floor, like a service elevator would look like. .Public areas, elevator and the room itself had a very peculiar
Walls everywhere in public areas were banged, scratched and needed painting/cleaning.
Room was miniscule, like Microtel, but far, far worse condition-wise.
Alarm clock broken, and desk refused to do a wake up call.
Upon returning from having dinner, we entered what was supposed to be a secured exterior door
allowing access by key card only, but this door was never secured.
Inside, there was what appeared to be a pimp and two of his 'employees' conducting a conversation.
As other area hotels were booked, we were forced to stay at this property.
In fairness, the bedding was clean (after a close examination) but the floor in the bathroom
was dirty and moldy.
After having spent many years traveling on business, I should have known better than to check into this dump.
