“A hidden gem!”
Reviewed 27 June 2013

We were looking for a restful place to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and selected Rocky Springs B & B because they offered an accessible room, not always available in B & Bs. Talking with Verna on the phone was the beginning of a wonderful experience with the B & B. The room was definitely accessible and very comfortable, including having a TV in the room. The breakfasts were very special. Where else do you get freshly picked cherries for breakfast! Eating on the patio in that beautiful setting was the perfect way to start the day even for someone who is not a morning person. Verna went out of her way to help all of the guests as they planned their day. The web site shows rocking chairs on the porch and they make an ideal place to read and relax. We look forward to another visit there. As long as Verna is there you can be guaranteed a great stay.

Room Tip: Can only address accessible room which would meet needs of anyone with mobility issues.

Our stay at Rocky Springs B&B was beyond our expectations. Verna, who is the innkeeper is a true professional. She provided a room that was immaculate. The home was warm and inviting, and the grounds were a treasure. There is so much Lancaster history behind this historic property! The grounds are spacious and beautiful, and end at a picturesque river. The whole atmosphere around this property was so tranquil. Verna created a breakfast that was by far the best we have had so far. It was delicious, and a literal work of art. We can not say enough good things about this B&B! We hope to return soon. Thank you Verna!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Figari room. It was fantastic. We saw the cottage, and it looked like a great con...

Rocky Springs B&B is a wonderful, peaceful & relaxing B&B tucked away on a beautiful piece of property. The property was an amusement park, some of the parks buildings still remain on the property, my husband really enjoyed the history that this piece of property has. This was just the weekend that my husband & I needed to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the cottage and it was lovely, decorated just like a cottage should be with all the comforts of home and very clean. Verna the inn-keeper was very welcoming and a very, very good cook. The breakfast was delicious and we look forward to visiting again.

We booked two rooms for the family for 2 nights. It is hidden in the midst of the old theme park and it is beautifully decorated and well taken care of. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and above all the host Verna is simply wonderful! We loved the breakfast and immensely enjoyed the hospitality.

The Rocky Springs Park Bed and Breakfast is in the middle of an amusement park that dated back to the late 1800's, closing in 1966. There are still landmarks of the park existing today. The grounds are beautifully kept, a quiet spot to touch base with nature. The owners of the Bed and Breakfast did a fantastic job of refreshing the Inn. A lot of work, I am sure, but it is beautiful! Verna, the Innkeeper, sure knows her way around the kitchen. Breakfast was delicious each morning we were there. She even made me some refreshing mint iced tea, her mother's recipe. Verna made our trip very pleasant. Even invited me to join her for service at her church, a Mennonite church, on Sunday. My husband was busy with meetings, so I took her up on her offer. Learned a lot about the Mennonites. Their friendliness made me feel welcomed. Next time you are in the Lancaster area, look this place up, I really don't think you'll be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Figari room. One of the smaller rooms, but perfect for us. No bathtub, only shower...

Rocky Springs is a quiet, charming bed and breakfast for those visiting the Lancaster area. Set aback from the main road, off the major highways, you are brought back to a pleasant plot of land that--wait--used to be an old amusement park! How cool! It was fun to look around the grounds and historic remnants. I'm sure the grounds are nicest in the warm spring or early fall when you can sit outside. (It certainly would be lovely if and when they convert it to a wedding location.)

We stayed in the green bedroom with the canopy bed that is in the main house. Though it's an older mansion, I couldn't hear any of the other guests, except in the hallway or the front door perhaps, which was infrequent. This was a pleasant surprise as I have heard toilets flushing and showers running in hotels.

The room was nice and comfortable--spacious enough for two. Separate bathrooms; no TV but free wifi. Room comes with amenities in case you don't bring shampoo or soap.

The best part of the stay, however, is the on-site B&B innkeeper, Verna. Verna is your friendly hostess, maid, and cook. She presents a delicious breakfast in the morning and can give you tips on where to go for food, shops, etc. And if you're interested in the Amish or Mennonites, like I was, she can speak from her experience. Delightful!

This was our first B&B stay, therefore we can't compare to others, but there were repeat guests who have stayed more than a couple times, who frequent B&Bs. They said this place was recommended to them when one of their regular spots closed down. Also, one couple highly recommended the separate cottage.

All in all, a nice weekender place to stay!

We stayed in this very charming B&B at the end of our 2 weeks in and around Lancaster. We were there for three nights and it was the best way to end our vacation. Verna is the "innkeeper" and so much more. We stayed in the Emma Belle room which is in the home on the first floor. Everything was spotless and so inviting. Verna brings a special warmness to the beautiful home and grounds. Our breakfast was always outstanding with fresh fruit, layered with a wonderful creme fraiche and the lightest omelets. Verna makes the best apple coffee cake, and her homemade jams are so delicious! Am so glad we found Rocky Springs and Verna. Will go out of our way to be able to stay there on a return trip to Pennsylvania. Is worth it to plan your trip so you can stay at Rocky Springs B&B.
