“Loved this fabulous hotel!”
Reviewed 21 November 2010

We stayed here for the first time, but have made many trips to Lancaster. We will stay at this one again! I loved it the minute I saw it. Very nice and cozy entrance. The room was very spacious, and I loved the beds and the bedding. I mentioned to one of the housekeepers that we didn't have a chair in our room, she said "Well, I will get you one", we have moved some around. When we came back to our room, there was a chair! That is service. How many people can say they have stayed in a Cork Factory!

My friends and I go away together every October. We always try to pick an interesting destination but are always on a budget. Because of this we often have to chose a hotel that is small and lacks character. This was not the case this year! Cork Factory was incredibly reasonable in price and we were more than pleased when we arrived.
The outside was so interesting and when we walked inside it was gorgeous. Clean, beautiful and most of all cozy! There was a fireplace in the lobby and friendly attendants that allowed us to check in 4 hours early!

The room was clean and the beds were plush. The bathroom was gorgeous--not your typical hotel bathroom by any means. Large bath/shower with glass doors (no plastic shower curtains).

We had a perfect stay! We saw on other posts that you can often hear through the walls but we didn't have a problem with that--though we may have been in a less populated part of the hotel.

The restaurant in the Hotel was amazing. I recommend the Filet and Brisket!

We loved our stay at Cork!

First of all, the hotel is in the "questionable" part of Lancaster; which is understandable since it is an old factory. Second the hotel is gorgeous, clean, refreshing, and artful. The staff was a mix of not so good and FABULOUS (Sandy in the restaurant is amazing!!) The bad make this a nightmare. We reserved two suites and handicap room, all with king beds. We got 1 suite, two kings and a double bed room. We spent 5 nights, the first night was so so, even though we were in the wrong room, and were told curtly that there were no more suites. The second night we heard every door slam, foot steep and sneeze any where in the Hotel. The next night our neighbors sounded like they were making a porno next to us and we had a young child in our room. We called the desk at 9 pm they said they take care of it, we called at 11 and then at 1 am. Finally they agreed to move us since they did not know what to do. We were moved to the suite for our last two days, the neighbors could be heard in the lobby the next morning. It was beautiful hotel, but not even as sound proof as a college dorm. There were two eateries close, an English pub and a grinder/pizza shop. The one quality that was unmistakeably the best was Sandy in the restaurant. She was a mom, travel guide, chef, waitress all rolled into one. Beautiful hotel, but it caters to tour buses, so it is busy and unfortunately loud. On a side note the Neptune diner in Lancaster is a must eat, but its a drive from the Cork Factory.

We attended a wedding in the Cork Factory and stayed over night. The sleeping rooms were a combination of rustic and comfortable. They were a good size, nicely decorated, and had nice bathrooms. They did a great job with the recent renovation. Breakfast was included, but they could lighten up that room; it had the lighting of a cocktail lounge. It is always a nice place for the wedding.

Stayed here for two nights in late September. The hotel itself is a lovely old building that has been completely redone as the Cork Factory Hotel. Nicely modernized while still retaining the charm of its historic origins. Beautifully decorated, if a little spartan, clean, comfortable rooms, comfortable beds, and centrally located to all of the attractions in Downtown Lancaster. We really liked the bar and restaurant too. I would only subtract a star for the rather snippy and unwelcoming front desk staff, and the HVAC system which can be a bit loud.

we had booked our first family vacation through expedia to lancaster and stayed at the cork factory hotel,. upon our arrival we immediatley noticed they gave us a room with double beds instead of queens.before and after booking with expedia i personally called the hotel to make sure i could get queen beds, and was told we were getting queen beds. after arriving, i called the front desk they said there was nothing they can do, the hotel was booked for the night and they would change our room the next day after checkout time, i explained we were leaving early for hershey and would be returning late and they said that was fine they will switch us when we got back.needless to say we had a very rough nights sleep. the next day we left early and headed for hershey park. we got back to the hotel around 10:00 or 11:00pm that night and was switched to a new room, once we got there we noticed there was no tub, just a shower stall and this would not work for us since we needed to give the kids a bath the next morning so needless to say they changed our room for the 3rd time. i wish we would have never been put there either bc a wedding just finished up and a bunch of drunk guests were running up and down the hallways slamming doors, yelling and so on. i tried calling the front desk 3x and noone picked up, we were exhausted so we sucked it up and went to sleep.we got up early the next morning and checked out early and went to dutch wonderland.. 1MONTH LATER... i get a charge for $247.00 on my bank account from the hotel. i call immediatley, it took the girl a few minutes to figure out why but then she tells me we broke a window!! my immediate response was pure anger. how the heck do they think we broke a window?? she proceeded to tell me that there were footprints on the roof and the window was kicked in?? obviously neither my husband, myself or our 4r old and 17month old, climbed to the roof then kicked in the window.. how/why would one do that anyways??? i cant even believe that they are charging us for this one month later. they didnt even contact us, to let us know they were charging us.( they said they dont have our info bc it was booked through expedia)i am beyond furious and upset about this. they girl said she would speak to her manager and then she would speak to the owner. i checked back again today and spoke to the manager, she was very upset with me bc i was yelling, but how could i not be angry they are charging us for something we did not do. i did apologize for taking it out on her. she said she would speak to the owner again since she heard my side of the story and now i am waiting to hear back. i am beyond devestated over this. i know for a fact we did not break this window.. i cant even believe this is going on. this has totally ruined my memory of my first vacation and makes me never want to travel again. why should i pay for something i didnt do? i feel like i am being scammed.when i asked to speak to the owner to explain my side i was told i could not speak to him.this is unfair.i really hope they will resolve this and give me my money back.i am so upset and cannot afford for someone to just take money from me. if it was something i did i would have no problem paying for it, but we did not do this.how do i know it wasnt another guest, or that they have the rooms mixed up or maybe it was the maid.. i dont know ..all i know is it wasnt us. my husband just lost his job and my youngest son has just been diagnosed with a form of autism, i do not need this. do not need to charged for something i did not do. i hope they will do the right thing.

We spend three night here recently. The Hotel is in a nicely restored factory building near downtown Lancaster. If you like staying in hotels that are not "cookie cutter" this is a good place to stay in Amish Country. it is central to all of the major attractions. The entire hotel is clean and very nice, both inside and out. The food in the restaurant is excellent although service was slow for the outdoor court area.
The only issue we found was a small thing with the HVAC system. it does not have a Fan On position so it cycles all night long. Between the noise of it going on and off and the air blowing on the left side bed it made sleeping soundly a little difficult.
