“GREAT HOTEL!”
Reviewed 11 October 2012

Great hotel....warm cozy lobby with coffee, tea and cookies all day. Great continental breakfast (waffles, eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit....on and on and on). Clean and BIG rooms! We had 2 queen beds AND a pull out couch. Sitting area in each room separate from the sleeping quarters. Front desk provided us with many things we needed..uc..swim diapers (in door heated pool!), plastic utensils, toiletries....very knowledgeable about the area and attractions as well. GREAT HOTEL and a GREAT PRICE and GREAT LOCATION...across from Dutch Wonderland, close to several outlets and other Amish attractions. We will DEFINITELY stay here again!

This hotel was extra clean and beautifully decorated for fall. The staff was friendly and helpful and it was located in a convenient location. Our room was very spacious and since it was in Amish country, was decorated with Amish pictures on the wall and quilts on the beds. Very lovely place!

Our suite was very comfortable. We were on the traffic side of the hotel so the road noise was noticeable. Also we were on the 3rd floor so the hall was quiet. The complementary breakfast was very generous. Overall it was a good stay.

Room Tip: Recommend the back of the building so the road noise isn't an issue.

I just returned from a two night stay with my 4 year old twins and my mother. We had a queen suite which was perfect for us. The hotel on arrival is beautiful on the ouside and perfectly decorated on the inside. We had a room on the 2nd floor. Our room faced the back and was always quiet. The hotel was a capacity and we would have never known it. Didn't hear any noises from other families. The rooms were plainly decorated, but a DVD player, microwave and fridge were a welcomed addition. Beds were confortable and bathroom clean. The toliet was def a loud flush as well as the ac unit. The housekeeping staff came back to our room after we left for the day which was perfect for us. The breakfast was more than continental. It got busy in the dining area, but we just got our food and ate in our room. No biggie...actually better! The hotel is literally across the street from Dutch Wonderland and was perfect to go and return later in the afternoon. It was a great place to stay!!!

We stayed in a two-room suite for a visit to Dutch Wonderland and other attractions in Lancaster, PA. The hotel is very nice, the central location is unbeatable, and the customer service is wonderful.
The room: the two-bedroom suite is very spacious and perfect for a family or large group. There were two queen beds in one room and one king-sized bed and bathroom in the master suite. There was also a pull out couch in the living area. The main bathroom was between the second bedroom and the living area. There was a TV in every room and one DVD player in the living area. There was also a microwave and mini-fridge. Everything was clean and worked well.
The hotel: the staff at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful and offered a large selection of breakfast food and drinks. The pool was nice to use during our downtime.
Overall, this hotel was perfect for a stay in Lancaster. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it was a bit noisy in the room above us at night when we were trying to get our kids to sleep. The staff rectified the problem, but it was frustrating to hear all the banging and yelling until the problem was solved.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the hotel so the traffic noise from 30 won't bother you at night.

Pros:
- Clean room with comfortable beds.
- Even the “standard” room (not a suite) was spacious and had comfortable furniture for relaxing.
- Free wi-fi in the room.
- Indoor pool and fitness center.
- Hotel is conveniently located to the city of Lancaster, shopping and area attractions.
- Free full breakfast is provided.
- Plenty of parking is available
- Hotel facility gives the impression of being very clean and well-maintained.

Cons:
- Hotel is located on a busy highway and is not in a particularly attractive setting.
- The highway handles considerable truck traffic and is on an incline in front of the hotel. This causes eastbound trucks to noisily downshift as the air braking westbound trucks join in creating quite a racket. This noise could be heard around the clock to some degree, even from the upper floors. The rear of the hotel faces a parking lot and a golf course, and a room there would probably be free of any offending noise.
- The breakfast room can get crowded when the hotel is full, making it difficult to find a table.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room in the rear of the hotel.

We have been coming to Lancaster every summer since 2007 generally staying 5 days on each visit. With the exception of this year we have always stayed at the Best Western Revere (which we truly love). This year - we were going to Washington DC instead of Lancaster and a few weeks before the trip decided to add an extra day at the beginning of the trip. Gave the boys the option of Lancaster, Philly or Baltimore. Of course they chose Lancaster so they could visit Dutch Wonderland. Since that was our main reason for choosing Lancaster this year we opted to stay directly across the street at the Country Inn & Suites Lancaster. We are not sorry about this. The proximity to Dutch Wonderland can't be beat. We arrived in Lancaster shortly before the park opened and unfortunately our room wasn't ready so we headed over to DW and spent the day. At around 3:30 I received a call stating our room was ready. We chose to stay at the park and after leaving headed to the hotel.

The room was quite spacious and clean (the only minor complaint i had was that whatever was used to clean the bathroom sink was not fully cleaned off in several places - not visible - but discovered when I leaned on the sink to look in the mirror).

We had a room facing Lincoln Highway (with a direct view of DW which truly excited my kids) and the highway noise was not a problem at all. We were on the 3rd floor. The beds were comfy - water pressure was good and the air conditioning was incredible.

Breakfast was good. The room was a bit crowded so initially we only were able to find a table with 2 chairs, but after about 5 minutes we were able to get a table with 4 chairs. We went down around 8:30ish. The waffle maker, as expected, was crowded, but not a terribly long wait. French toast sticks were a nice touch - have not seen those on any complementary breakfast buffet before. Eggs didn't look too appetizing. Oatmeal was good. And, unless I'm confusing the two hotels we stayed at on this trip - there was no apple juice (my son's favorite).
I guess I'm spoiled by the breakfast at the Revere because they have 2 types of pre-made breakfast sandwiches every day - a quick breakfast leaving more time for me to get the kids' fed.

We used the pool in the evening and it was very nice. The hot tub was relaxing.

The only thing I found odd and which I've never seen before was a sign at the front desk which said that there was a $50.00 charge if your room required excessive cleaning. Hmm. My boys found that funny and decided to avoid the charge by making their bed.

All in all a great stay - would definitely consider staying here if we visit Lancaster again next year - although our past experiences at BW Revere would make it hard to decide between the two.
