Red Roof Inn Lancaster

My wife and I and our dog spent a long weekend at the Lancaster Red Roof Inn. The hotel is centrally located (on very busy Route 30 East in Lancaster) to the major attractions of the Pennsylvania Dutch region. The front desk staff is friendly and very helpful. I had made online reservations, consequently check- in and check-out were both very smooth and easy. The hotel was full for the 2 nights that we stayed. The hotel is three levels high. We had a room on the second level towards the back end of the building. I recommend requesting a rear room so the noise from Route 30 is at a minimum and as an added benefit the view is magnificent. We did not hear any noise from the room above us and only an occasional bark from the dog in the room blow us. The room size was more than adequate for the 2 of us and our dog. The room was clean as was the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and we (and our dog) slept very well both nights. On the second night of our stay, a hotel guest was shooting off fireworks after 10 PM (Not a good thing to do at a Pet Friendly hotel). We called the front desk to report the problem and within 3 minutes of ending our call, a member of the staff was taking care of the situation. There were no more fireworks that night. The room had a Large Flat Screen HDTV, a microwave and a refrigerator. They all worked problem free as did the wall unit air conditioner. The hotel offers free breakfast and the breakfast room was clean and large enough so that we did not have a problem finding a table/seat despite the fact that the hotel was full both nights we were there. The breakfast included white bread, wheat bread, miniature muffins, cereal, make your own waffles, sausage links, scrambled eggs, orange juice and apple juice. Adding bagels and English muffins to the breakfast, would be a definite plus. All in all, the Red Roof Inn, Lancaster is a very good, affordable hotel that is also Pet Friendly. I recommend this hotel to my fellow travelers whether they travel with a pet or not.

Room Tip: Request a room in the rear of the building to minimize highway noise. Upper levels would be better t...

I made reservations in February and got in Lancaster at one. I was told room will not be ready till 3. Did the Amish tour and came back at 5. I was given a third floor room. Likes, Big room, fast WiFi, location excellent ,and it had a cozy bed.Dislikes, bathroom was dirty(poppy toilet paper on floor) only one set of towels and shampoo, old round tube TV,elevator small and nasty, and room was dated with poor ceiling repairs.

This was our fourth or fifth time at this hotel. It is very clean and the staff is very hospitable. The location is great as well--right next to Dutch Wonderland. It has a well-kept pool, good breakfast room, and deck on the back.

Room Tip: The hotel is small enough that all rooms are generally equidistance from where you want to be. Parki...

I was with a Senior Group from a church in Virginia last week. We had reservations for 26-27 rooms for two nights. The tour leader had a faxed confirmation for these reservations, but when we arrived on Thursday evening, we were told that we all of us could not stay there on Thursday night and none of us could stay Friday evening because they had lost the reservations and did not have enough rooms. Finally they decided that if 13 couples would take a king size bed room, we could all stay Thursday night, which we did. But on Friday we had to move to another complex, The Day's Inn, which is owned by the same group. That meant we could not unpack our luggage because we were to move on Friday, which we did. How do you lose a bus load
that had reserved 26-27 rooms. We had stayed there last year and things were okay, so you would think they would take better care of return reservations. We make a bus trip to Lancaster once a year, but we will not be staying at the Red Roof Inn anymore. If you have reservations there or are about to make them, please check before you arrive to see that they have the reservation.

Stayed here several times before, family loves the hotel and location, very close to Dutch Wonderland which my grandchildren love. Granddaughter loves the breakfast room, calls it the breakfast club, too cute.

The place was clean, priced right, and staff was friendly. I had needed to leave a day early due to allergies and I was given a full refund on the last day. The breakfast is plentiful and area kept clean and stocked. I visit the area a couple of times a year and will stay here again.
