Been going there for several years now and never had a bad experience. Mickey, Jerry and the other employees are very courteous and helpful. The only downfall is with recent change of ownership fees were raised and rv sites were changed due to a few complaints. What were back to back level locations maybe a little difficult to get into for some have been changed to angled sites you need extra blocking for to get level. If you can't maneuver and park your rig you shouldn't be driving it either, IMHO. Overall it is a great place and we will continue to go there

We visited this campground in March of this year, and tried to make sense of their double sites, and other sites that would meet our needs. We drove an hour and a half (each way) to find at least 10 sites, and now we will share it with you. You can use these sites on your first camping visit, then walk around and locate 10 to 15 other sites that fits your needs. Mark them down on the campground map.

We settled on site #124, for tents with no electric and water nearby. Great shade trees, thick soft grass, and a farm across the river that provides entertainment later in the day. At this site, the shade was nearly 100%.

This has to be one of the best sites for space, with no one camping to the left of you. It would be perfect for another family tent, if you are looking for a 2 tent space.

If you have little kids camping with you, there is a stream in front of you, about 25 feet away.

In a tent or a Pop-Up? You should bring along a 3’ x 5’ piece of carpet to place in front of your entrance way. During the week, Canadian Geese make their rounds on available grassy areas.
Try wearing sneakers, flip flops, or sandals, instead of boots. And as always, keep wet wipes available. (We also have a section of carpet inside the tent).

On all three days, we were covered with soft, slow moving winds. There was no sweating, and it made the weekend the best that it could be. We planned to spend most of our time at Dutch Wonderland, so the only meal that we had to make was breakfast. Cereal, fruit, muffins, pop tarts, milk , OJ, granola, pudding, etc. Everything else came from the amusement park.
Free coffee at the office.

Lots of fast food joints, and restaurants in the area. Maybe having Pizza delivered?

The campground bathrooms are one of the best that I have ever seen. The “Family Bathrooms” are extra large inside, and there is a huge low rider shower stall, made for wheelchair access. The bathrooms are cleaned twice a day.
The office and the campground workers were very friendly and helpful.

Now, for the 5% that I didn’t expect.

-We saw 2 large Cranes flying just above the stream water, at 6 a.m., going both directions.
-We could see some of the Dinosaurs, in the distance, tucked in between trees.
-6 Teepee’s being built, for people to rent. (and yes, they have 2 large poles to open the top area, so to let the heat out). A wooden floor on the inside, with other things to be added later.
-A 1950’s metal childrens slide, about 8 ft. tall, and in great shape.

*And now for the Circus.
As we sat in front of our tent, around 8 p.m., we saw some movement on top of the hill, on the other side of the stream.
It had the look of an organized daycare, letting kids go outside to the playground.
But, it was better than that. It was the farmer at the top of the hill, letting his cows out, to wander down to the stream, and give themselves a long drink. I will stop right there, so you could enjoy the show..........if you get a chance to see them.
Hopefully, you will have the same entertainment on your camping outing.

On the second night, only 9 cows came down. To my surprise, they all stopped, turned and chased the Canadian Geese off of the farm property.

If you are camping , and planning to go to Dutch Wonderland, here is something that you will love.
There is what’s called a “Preview Night”.
We bought our tickets at the Campground Office, in the early afternoon on Friday. With those tickets (we bought one day passes), we got to go into the amusement park FREE, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday night. Have the campground office staff explain it to you in detail. If you are going to get something to eat, many of the places in the park start shutting down around 8 p.m. In the park is a Nathans Hot Dogs, and a Subway………plus much more.

Now, that was Friday night. We went back to the amusement park, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, pulled out our one day passes, and had a great time for the rest of the day.

Now, as for the tent sites that are well shaded? Sites 124, 106, 104, 102, 118, 116, 120, (in that order)
Site 122 is more into the sun, with about 50% shade. If you do settle on site 122, most likely you will be in the park until you or your kids are pooped out. For that reason, the sun would not be a factor. We always use a tarp over the tent, to help defuse the heat.
For the best shade, stay closer to the huge trees.

We hope you have as much fun as we had. We plan to make this a must go place on our camping calendar for the next 5 years.
Best Wishes, and we hope to see you there. ( look for our tent)

This is a great quiet campground that is central to all the great Lancaster / Hershey attractions. Not much to do at the campground itself but acts as a great base camp for a trip to this great area. My wife and I stayed here over the 4th of July with our 2 young kids and already booked a site for next year. The price is hefty but the quiet friendly atmosphere is priceless. No more than a 5 minuet walk to Dutch Wonderland and about 30 minute drive to Hershey. We stayed here in a 36' travel trailer and had plenty of room and the site was only off level by 1.5". Hook ups were solid and reliable. A nice new playground was installed this past year so the old wood one is a thing of the past. You won't regret staying at this peaceful campground.

Room Tip: Sites to the right of the office when coming in are much more wooded but also closer together. The...

Very clean sites, very quiet campground. Not much to do but Dutch wonderland is right next door and also cherry crest farms is close. Right in the heart of all the outlets. Amish buggy comes through with goodies for sale. They recently got new owners so hopefully not much will change

We camped here for the second time in our 36' Motor coach with our 4 and 6 year old daughters. We love this campground because it's quiet and peaceful and close to the Lancaster County attractions. I love that we can walk with our children to and from the park for food, naps showers, etc. The staff is super helpful and friendly, the store is well stocked. The sites are large and roomy and shaded. the views across the stream are beautiful. We could not hear the amusement park at night in our camper, it was very peaceful. The sites are well equipped with a nice sized picnic table and fire pit. The other campers were quiet, friendly and nice. It's family oriented with a playground and game room. The campground increased the rates this year, but we could see the improvements from last year, it's still a better deal than the hotels in the area. Tip: stay during the week for less crowds at the campground and Dutch Wonderland.

Room Tip: Site next to the stream has great views.

Campground is vlose to everything and well laid out. Bathrooms were very clean and everything was well-kept. Only one complaint. There was some one camping a few roads over, with several dogs, I counted six. They set up a make shift kennel in front of their camper, and anytime someone walked or drove by they would go crazy. Luckily the park, was only about 25 percent full. Would have really been annoyed if we were parked near them. Everything else was great and would recommend this park if in the area.

Very Nice Campground. I recommend trying to get a site on the creek on far side of the campground away from the amusement park however. Amusement park closes at 10 so it's not bad after that. The sites on the Creek face an Amish farm across it and the cows come down and drink out of the creek during the day and there are lots of family's of ducks that live there. The sites are al little awkward to park in if you have a big rig. because they are parallel to the road and all face the same way.. so you need some skills to get them in there if your a novice.
But overall it is a great place to camp with a well stocked store and lots to do
