We stayed here one weekend in mid-July to take our two girls to Dutch Wonderland and also get some outlet shopping done. The hotel is very conveniently located and, unlike most of the hotels on this strip of highway 30 which scare me, this property is clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and our room was size able and quiet. We would definitely choose this hotel again when we return.

The location of this hotel was excellent for shopping. The hotel has a great outdoor pool. Lots of restaurants close by. We would stay here again next time we are in Lancaster for shopping. The only complaint I would have is the breakfast ended at 9 would have like to see it on a little later.

We were able to walk to AMT and the Rockvale outlets. The room was large and comfortable, although it smelled a little too much like ammonia. The pool was clean and the young swimmers were happy. The front desk staff was nice, although when I asked about local restaurants, they only knew about Olive Garden and Ruby Tuesdays (HINT: go to the lovely Fireside about 4 miles away). The breakfast had much more variety than I expected, including yogurt and boiled eggs, small cheese omelets and link sausage, fruit, juice and coffee. However, we were there at 8:30 during a sold-out Tuesday morning, and the woman filling the stations was very impatient with the families waiting in line for breakfast. They had let the omelets run out, and when someone politely asked about the sausages that had also run out, the only employee assigned to the breakfast station lost her cool. She needed more help, but she needn't have yelled at the dad who was getting his family breakfast.

Room Tip: Second floor seemed quieter, away form the pool.

Check in and check out was very easy. Great location since one person in our party was going
to the American Music Theater which is across the street. The hotel is also located right in front
of the outlet stores. Really good continental breakfast. Room was clean but had that hotel
smell. Staff was very friendly. Great location for all the sights as well. Would stay here
again.

We have stayed at a number of hotel/motels in the Lancaster area and I can say that this is one that we would return to. Easy check in/out. Great location- right within a huge outlet, so many to just walk to. Clean rooms, although the bathtub had some mold growth. Luckily, my kids are old enough to shower, not take a bath. Pool was clean and great for kids, since it was only 4 1/2 feet deep in the middle. Towels readily accessible at the pool. We had a room with a pool view, so we had a door that opened into the courtyard and to the pool. Very nice to walk right out of our room and swim. Beds and pillows were super comfortable, I think more so than my own! Breakfast was fine, although my kids would have liked some kind of meat with their eggs, bacon, sausage, ham. Only sausage gravy with biscuits. Pancakes were good, as was the coffee. The breakfast room was a bit small and very hot, but we were on day 5 of an extreme heat wave. I can say that we all had an experience better than we have in the past and we would return, without a doubt!

Room Tip: Pool view if you have kids and want easy/quick entry

This was our first time staying here. We have visited Dutch Wonderland for the past two years, but the hotel we normally stayed at was closed down. The hotel is in a convenient location -- there are outlet stores within walking distance, the amusement park is less than five minutes away, and all the great amish restaurants are within 5-10 minutes as well. So you can't complain about its location.
The hotel was clean and our room was nice -- overall a good deal for the price. Two issues/complaints, however. First, the freezer in our refrigerator never worked well during our two-night stay. When we first checked in, it was not frozen at all, in fact it was dripping like it was defrosted. I informed the front desk and they told us someone would look at it. When we returned later the first night, it was no longer dripping but none of the icepacks we placed in it froze. The whole refrigerator didn't seem all that cold in my opinion. My mom was in the next room and we ended up using her refrigerator/freezer to keep things cold. Hers worked fine -- was very cold. I hate having to ask over and over again to have something done right so we didn't bother complaining again. Secondly, we stayed here and chose this hotel over others that were cheaper because it had a pool (our two little ones are just learning to swim and love pools) — but honestly, the pool area was not very well kept. It was very dirty all along the outside of the pool. Did not look like it had been cleaned in awhile. I was not happy having our little ones walk along the outside of the pool in their bare feet. In fact, i wasn't thrilled that I had to do it myself. Also, I don't think the pool itself was cleaned that morning or previous night as it had dirt and bugs in it as well. Also note -- the pool is really great for kids, but not adults. It goes from 3 1/2 feet to 4 1/2 feet deep in the middle, I believe. That's it. It's not very deep. They should have this noted somewhere on the web site where they list the pool.

Three couples (all related) wanted to see the Happy Together Tour at the American Music Theater and found that the Holiday Inn Express is conveniently located to the Theater! Yeah!!

Check in time is 4:00 pm, the hotel did not have one of our three rooms available at that time so we sat in the lobby until it was ready. The lobby was nicely decorated and comfortable with sofas and chairs; it wasn't long before our room was ready. In the lobby area were two computers and nearby was the breakfast area. All these areas were clean and nicely maintained.

The front desk was staffed by friendly people who recognized us as Priority Club Members and gave us goodie bags with water, a snack and information on the area, a nice touch.

There were no major issues with our three rooms, but one tub looked like it had been painted and there were some minor issues in another room (grout in bathroom looked like it should be redone or cleaned.

Each room was a King with a refrigerator and microwave, flat screen tv, sofa/sitting area. This property has an outdoor pool and a fitness center. The breakfast buffet was the normal Holiday Inn Express buffet - pancakes, juice, cereal, hot items, muffins, etc...

We had no major issues with this hotel and would happily stay there again.

Oh yeah, you can walk from the parking lot to outlet stores -- better yet take your car you will see more stores, the outlet mall is HUGE. The hotel does have a map of the outlet stores -- take one and do your homework or else you will be wandering the stores for days.
