“Clean but in a tacky area”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

From the name and photos I expected this to be in a more "country" setting. That is not the case. We drove in at night and woke to find ourselves on a very tacky major road. The inn was clean and the staff was very nice. We didn't use the pool but it also looked clean. Over all it wasn't bad but it great. It was ok for the price.

I stayed in the hotel with my husband and teenage son when we were touring in Pennsylvania and it's a great base for Lancaster county. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was lovely with nice rooms and the pool is a real treat. The rooms are spacious with a lovely veranda with rockers to relax in th evening. Free coffee and snacks in the foyer and lots of information on local sights to visit. The food does let it down a bit. breakfast was crowded and not a good quality, the evening meal was acceptable but the service was not great we didn't feel welcome in the restaurant. We would stay again but just eat somewhere else in the evening.

This hotel was very nice and clean. The free breakfast wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Stayed with husband and 3 children. Free beverages and popcorn in the lobby. Overall a good stay. We would stay here again.

My husband and I love going to Lancaster, PA for R&R, in among our shopping outlet trips and eating at restaurants with local fare. The Country Inn of Lancaster is quaint, comfortable and an overall nice place to stay. Relax on a porch with ladder back rockers and just chill out. The continental breakfast is nice and you can enjoy your coffee, juice and pastry or whatever you pick for breakfast on your porch while rocking and enjoying nature. The hotel is close to the shopping but not in the heart of it which we like. They even have a light at their entrance now which makes getting into and out of the Inn much easier. A favorite for us. The office staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful.

We stayed overnight as part of a Pensylvania road trip.
Impeccable and helpful front desk and a lot of amenities in the lobby bade well. The rooms were spacious and the bedding was top notch. However a few aspects could do with improvement:
* the room clearly had not been vaccum cleaned: just in the space betweent eh two beds, there was a torn piece of cigarette box, as well as an M&Ms. It was all the more weird as both the bathroom and bedding were pristine
* the breakfast was a bit of a letdown. I was adequate but calling it "continental breakfast" may be a bit grand. Plastic cutlery and paper plates sort of went against the "home feel" that the place is shooting for. Comparing to other hotels in the area which offer a lot more choice (e.g. waffle maker etc), this was a bit underwhelming
* the restaurant serves honest hearty food (standard american food, no attempt to disguise it as anything fancy) but the setting is more that of a diner than a restaurant, and the service can be moody

All in it was a great spot for some R&R and a safe option but I am unsure it offers a level of quality that justifies the price difference with one of the other Inns in the area

We stayed here for soccer tournament and I dealt with Abby prior to our arrival. The hotel was cute. The decor was country with plaid rugs in the room and Amish paintings. They have continental breakfast which consists of hot &cold cereal, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast&hard boiled egg. It's great if you're a light breakfast eater but if you're looking for the waffles some hotels have you're out of luck. The lobby has coffee, tea, hot cocoa, juice and orange water available 24 hrs which was great. The pool was nice for the family just be careful it's very slippery. If you get hungry there's a restaurant/bar in the parking lot,
Friendly' s, & McDonald's across the street. The location is great. There is food, shopping nearby and highway. If you're going to Dutch Wonderland it's a great location. I would stay here again. My one suggestion to the hotel would be to have a microwave in each room.

We came in with a soccer team they were very accommodating and helpful to our players and families. Abby was a pleasure to deal with and i would recommend this hotel to families as it is close to Amish attractions and shopping!
