We made a reservation and there was an issue with the reservation when we arrived. The staff immediately resolved the mix-up to our satisfaction. The atmosphere was relaxing. Nice beer selection, delicious bread as we waited our food. Only had entree and it was delicious, a little pricey but it was for a special date night, so it was worth it. Our waiter, Bud, was very pleasant and accommodating. When in the area again, we'll stop in for another meal.

Our last night in Lancaster, on our way home from a southern foodie swing (a.k.a. our summer vacation trip), was highlighted by a wonderful dinner at Carr's. We were seated toward the rear next to the big window looking into the really impressive the wine cellar, treated to wonderful service, and enjoyed excellent cuisine. My Caesar salad was the best I've ever had *anywhere* -- a couple of extra layers of flavor going on, there, made it memorable. A regular house salad, across the table, got Madame's dinner off to a good start too. We both had a terrific veal loin dish -- a lot like a smaller and sophisticated treatment of Wienerschnitzel. A bottle of dry Rose only added to the enjoyment. Partway through the dinner the owner (or manager?) came out and took our picture for the restaurant's Facebook page (mercifully for all humanity, aiming more at Madame's side of the table than at mine!), and later that evening, there we were...

The atmosphere is quiet and elegant, the menu intriguing, and in all the whole experience was a great way to finish off a trip that had featured *a lot* of great dining. Next time in Lancaster, Carr's will definitely be on our to-do list --

The restaurant is downstairs from Carr's wine bar, adjacent to two parking lots (even on a busy theater evening we found a space easily), and literally about five steps away from Central Market. Open Table reservations are accepted, as are all the relevant varieties of plastic. We expected the place to be good, when we arrived, but found it even better than anticipated...

We're from out of town and didn't realize they stopped serving lunch at 2:30 and don't start dinner until 5:30... when we walked in, the bartender said they should be ready to serve (it was about 4:45)... the waitress was like... umm, no... we said thanks anyway, then we'll go somewhere else. Went across the street and had amazing service and great food! Thanks for nothing!

Carr's is a great place to go for a nice quiet lunch or dinner - particularly for those who need to discuss business matters. The food is great, the service is excellent, and best of all it is one of the few quiet places to eat in downtown Lancaster. I wear a hearing aid and this is much appreciated. Right across from the Market, it is perfect for busy travelers who want a chance to relax and have a nice meal as well.

Carr’s is a relatively small restaurant in a busy, cobblestoned block of downtown Lancaster. Mrs Too and I stopped in for dinner and I must say enjoyed our meal very much. We were greeted cordially and seated promptly, as the restaurant was not very busy. Our server was dedicated, prompt, and very helpful.

Ben went for the ribeye steak, and Mrs Too selected the crab cake. The ribeye was probably the best ever, with a rich flavor and much less fat than usual. Mrs Too found the crab cake perfectly acceptable, but prefers the Chesapeake style fried cakes, rather than the high-piled broiled version. Unlike some other reviewers, we both found the bread exceptionally enjoyable, and the wines by the glass were well above average.

This was our first visit, but will not be our last. Lancaster native Tim Carr lives up to every word of praise he has received, and we confidently look forward to dining here in the future.

Parking is scarce, even with a reasonably priced lot just across, so be prepared for the possibility of hunting around.
