This was our second stay at the Courtyard. Our son is a freshman at F&M and we dropped him off right before Hurricane Irene. What a stressful weekend it would’ve been if not for the staff at the Courtyard being so pleasant and hospitable we felt right at home and relaxed.

After a long day being up since 5am, driving for hours and moving our son into school the last thing we needed was a long check-in. Chris the GM checked us in and made it so smooth that I don’t even remember handing over my credit card. I’ve read that this property had won many awards from the Marriott Corporation which is not a surprise because Chris is really a hands on manager. During our stay I saw him walking around the property making sure everything was alright, picking up debris and greeting people.
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Similar to our first visit we got a good nights sleep. Consistency – what we had expected.

The breakfast buffet was excellent. Genie was our server and she made sure we got everything we needed. Our coffee mugs were always topped off and the dirty plates were taken away. All this with a warm smile!

Thanks to the staff at Courtyard at Lancaster for a relaxing stay. We will be back!

I came to Lancaster on a last minute getaway to do some bike riding. I chose the Courtyard based on TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel is right off Route 30, about 10 minutes from downtown with easy access in all directions.

The front desk people could not have been more pleasant and check-in took less than a minute. I've never stayed in a Courtyard before, and the room had the look of a thoughtful pre-fab design, using every bit of space efficiently and giving the room the illusion of being larger than it is. I had two queen beds and the room still had space for a comfortable chair in the corner, which was great for me because I don't like watching TV in bed. Also plenty of room for my bike and gear.

The room could use just a little more light overall. The desk space is kind of unusual, with a pullout table on wheels jutting out a few inches from the desk. I found this to be handy on several occasions. Plenty of outlets. Wireless Internet worked easily but wasn't particularly fast. There's an ethernet jack but no cable in the room. The TV is a good size flatscreen with a decent channel selection.

There's a small space with a refrigerator down low, a very small microwave middle and coffee pot and ice bucket on top. It's kind of cramped and awkward but functional.

The beds were comfortable. Pretty good modular closet and dresser space with an iron and board. The bathroom was well set up but the shower head sprayed water from where it screwed into the pipe. I've seen this problem with surprising frequency in hotels, but this one was aimed directly at the towel rack, soaking the towel closest to the shower. Fortunately, the bathroom was very well provided with towels.

In the lobby there's a bar and place for breakfast. I did not partake. There's a little snack/sundries stand adjacent to the front desk so it was manned 24 hours. I'm surprised other hotels don't do the same kind of thing. There's a reasonably well equipped fitness room and a laundry room. The indoor pool is small and a bit murky. There's a spa too but the space is kind of unpleasant. There's an outdoor sitting area adjacent which seemed nice.

Overall I was satisfied with the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

My husband and I just returned from a two night stay at the Courtyard. The minute we walked in through the doors we were greeted by friendly, smiling faces. The room was clean, comfortably cooled and everyone from the front desk to the servers at the breakfast buffet could not have been nicer. There wasn't one single employee that didn't greet us or didn't have a smile for us. It was such a nice experience that we would go back in a heartbeat. The location was perfect as well. It is close to everything...outlets, parks, Music Theater, restaurants...it's all within a few miles from the hotel. We loved the walking trails and the park. No complaints and highly recommend.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights to visit Dutch Wonderland and Hershey Park with our toddler. We booked a 1 bedroom king suite and requested a pack 'n play in the room and early checkin. I called the day of to check on the requests. They said the crib would be there but no guarentee on the early checkin. We showed up around 1:30 and our room was ready when we needed it. We got in the room and the crib was all setup and room was very clean. If you have a toddler who needs to nap or go to bed early, pay extra to get the suite. You can have her sleep in one room and close the door so you can read a book, check email or watch TV.

We ate at the buffet for breakfast each morning cause it was less of a hassle with a small child in tow. The breakfast buffet was $11/head and not too bad. Pretty good selection of various things. It was basically the same menu every day so you could get bored with it if you stayed at the hotel for more than a few days. We were there over a weekend and the place got pretty busy with families at breakfast but we only had to wait a few minutes for a table.

The staff were friendly and helpful and never had any issues. Would definately stay here again when we come back for a DutchWonderland visit. DW is around 10 mins away. It is really nice that this is off the main drag so you avoid some of the traffic/noise of main drag that DW is on. It was pretty easy to get to Hershey Park from here (probably 30-45 mins depending on traffic in Hershey). Good central location for both parks.

Room Tip: if you have toddler, get a 1 bedroom suite

We stayed at this hotel during a family trip to Hershey, PA and Lancaster area. Upon checking in, there had been a mistake ( through no fault of the hotel) with the reservation. We booked our room through Priceline, and instead of giving us the king suite we reserved, we got the regular king room. This wasn't going to work for us, being two adults and 3 children. The front desk clerk was so helpful and apologetic for the mix up. Although, no fault of the hotel, she ended up giving us a comped separate king room for the kids directly across from our room. ( The kids are 10, 12 and 12.) They loved it and we got our privacy ! And, Marriott got very happy patrons that would likely stay again if in the area !

Room Tip: If you are traveling with kids and still want a king and your privacy, consider the king suite with...

The hotel was very clean, and the staff very hospitable. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The buffett breakfast they serve everyday was great. I needed info to go to church, and they looked it up. They all seemed so eager to please that I felt I was in a very good place.
