About the hotel and room: The hotel is right next to Franklin & Marshall and close to the rest of downtown Lancaster. There is a restaurant inside (where we attended a wedding) that serves dinner. The only thing that stuck out to me about the room other than the decor was that it had a shower and not a bath tub.
The good: Nice, attractive hotel with artwork from local artists. Staff is pleasant, lobby is nice and is nicely decorated. Rooms were cool looking and had a hair dryer, lots of toiletries, and bottled water. The free breakfast was okay. There were bagels, waffles (that you had to toast), hard boiled eggs, cheeses, and breakfast burritos you had to microwave.
The bad: We were on the second floor and it was very noisy. We could hear people outside during all hours of the night (listened to a particular conversation about a guy yelling at his partner on the phone). We could also hear people in all of the rooms around us, including above us. You can hear conversations, their movements, their steps, them... "loving" each other...
I personally couldn't sleep well because of the noise plus I found the pillows uncomfortable. I also felt like there were price tags on everything, including a rose they give you at night ($5 for a rose in a plastic IV bag looking container) and even the hotel/Lancaster information booklet ($40?!).
