I knew that this was going to be a mediocre hotel, and that is what I got. You kind of get what you pay for. The bathroom really needed to be updated. This hotel is really showing its age. Little has been done to it as far as improvements. It did have a flat screen TV, but I never used it. Internet speed was awesome!

Dear Bruce,
We are sorry you found our hotel inferior to your standards. I know that your sister in law reserved the room for you, and maybe you should have told her that you did not find her choice of accomodations suitable to your personality. Should you have voiced your discomfort to the Front Desk, we would have been more than happy to provide you with a list of local resorts more appropriate to your refined taste.

Travelodge got some mixed reviews, so here goes. Upon arrival, they've painted the place. It's beige and orange. It's an old building definitely. The room, 237, was clean and neat. There was no appreciable odor of any kind. It's quiet here too. It's pet friendly too. The linens are worn. Rag tag in places, but clean. There are no critters running around. Mini fridge works as does the micro wave. Bathroom was cleaner than mine at home. The faucet leaks around the base, but I don't care about that. Carpet is clean. Windows are dirty, and could use a good cleaning. The tv screen was smudged from someone trying to clean it, but that was fixable myself. Panty of space for myself and three kids aged nine to thirteen. The Wi-Fi is EXCELLENT. the kids are pleased they have all the bars and the internet was fast. They raved about the net. I'm pleased too cause internet can be non existent in some hotels I've stayed in. Campus is clean, they guy was sweeping it this morning. Outdoor pool area was good. Has pretty plants and marigolds potted around the pool. They could use more chairs around the pool, especially if it gets crowded bit we were fine with seating. There's a nice deck above the restaurant they could spruce up as a sitting area. That's just an idea. Continental breakfast, what they have is good, a couple cereals, hit coffee and cold juice. Muffins and danishes, a toaster, but nothing hot. It's in the office and it's super cramped in there and a line should form as opposed to the little free for all that goes on. Don't forget the tray, because there's no where to sit. Some have commented on the odor from the restaurant, but it smells good. They ought to have a menu in room for the restaurant because I believe it's co-owned. Also a list of tv channels because flipping through all channels is super duper annoying as hell. Even if it was something printed out on a piece of paper. That's all.

This place was a bit seedier than I was expecting based on other recent reviews. The room had a musty smell which dissipated somewhat but not completely when we left the door open for a couple of hours. The sheets were clean but were clearly old, as was everything else. I was glad I was staying with my son, not my daughter. But it is obviously cheap; I'd give it 2.5 stars if that was an option.

I suspect the management's active response to recent comments here might have hindered some people from writing negative reviews. This is not at all a criticism, as management's responses have been polite, but they suggest (or at least they suggested to me) a higher quality establishment than this actually is. If management reads this review, I encourage you to try to do something about the musty smell (I was in room 234).

FWIW, I wrote another review after this trip, for a similarly priced motel in Springfield, MA which seemed to me better than the tripadvisor reviews, so I gave it 4 stars. I think that place was doing a better job of making the best of an aging establishment.
