This hotel is right in the heart of Amish country in a peaceful rural setting. The rooms are very comfortable & decorated in a very rustic style. The bed & the pillows are extremely comfortable & for me it was very quiet & restful. Cookies on the bed to wish the traveller a pleasant stay are a welcoming touch. I found the staff to be helpful & the breakfast very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the complete Lancaster County experience.

We have just spent two sleepless nights at the Inn at Leola Village, and will never return there. A nice inn for having your wedding, but as a guest, the chances of having a good night sleep are very slim. We had a large room in the basement level of the Lancaster building. There were plenty of lights and a high ceiling to compensate for being in an English basement-style room. However, the floors were concrete (as they were in the hallway) and the walls were plastered, so the noise echoed in our room and especially in the hallway outside our room. The few rugs in the room and in the hallway did not help much with the noise control. Well after midnight, noisy wedding guests came downstairs, and were speaking in the hallway with loud voices for quite some time. There was no way to sleep through that.

Then there was the noisy AC system. Each time it turned on, it took a while to get blowing at its proper rate. During that time, it was quite loud and disturbed us. It seemed to turn on and off quite frequently, maybe because it was so very hot outside.

To add insult to injury, we had a very creaky floor in the room above us. Think about a squeaky floorboard in your house, which makes noise each time you hit that spot. Now think about the sound you hear when every step taken on that floor produces a loud sound! I cannot imagine that these folks did not hear the noise as well, and I realize that they had no other choice, but we were woken up many times throughout the night as these guests got up and walked around their room. If they had just slept we might have had some sleep ourselves, but since they were up during the night and early birds in the morning, we never had more than an hour or two of sleep.

Next, let's talk about the lack of a full door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. This half barn-like door made it possible to hear everything going on in the bathroom: fans, flushes, sink water and shower were all right in your ear. We also heard the water in the pipes from the room above us, each time they flushed. Can you imagine anything as awful as this? We joked that we were in some CIA sleep-deprivation center, but it really was not a joke.

This is trivial by comparison to the other things I've mentioned, but as I am in the middle of a rant, I will mention it too...that parking was not easy when we returned from Lancaster late Saturday evening. Most of the spots were taken by wedding guests, diners in the 2 restaurants, or other guests. Is it too much to ask for some spots designated as overnight guest parking near each building, so we don't have to search so long and hard for a spot?

If you have read any of my other reviews, you will know that I am not usually as critical as I have been here. If you can get a room on the top floor of any of the buildings, your experience will be very different from ours. There is much room for improvement in the noise control and sound-proofing used in these buildings, and maybe a sign or two reminding guests to keep their voices down in the hallways late at night, would be appreciated by the other guests.

Room Tip: Never accept a room in the basement or lower level. Only stay on the top floor in any of the buildi...

Thank you for your feedback regarding your hotel stay. Our 4 Diamond hotel offers a variety of different room options, not a single one of our 62 rooms are alike. In describing your room it appears you stayed in our Tuscan inspired Club rooms with lush leather furnishings in our Lancaster House building.

We strive to accommodate all of our guests needs and in most cases exceed their expectations. If you would have made our front desk aware of your displeasure with noise levels in your room and surrounding areas we would have made every effort to make your experience more memorable in another section of our property.

This is truly a gem in the USA. What a beautiful place to stay.
The rooms are so grand and cosy -the furnishings are top noche, the pillows are so cosy as is the bed.
Love the touch of the cookies left by the bed also.
The grounds are just outstanding to walk around.
We loved this place

This would had been a perfect stay if not for the rowdy bridal party having a drinking party on the hallway outside our hotel room around 1am. The breakfast (delicious and elegantly served), landscaping, room, lobby, service, location, surrounding were all perfect. The bridal party were making so much noise and drinking, partying on the hallway, treating it like a pub and woke our entire family up and totally disturbed our sleep.

My wife and I stayed at this charming luxury hotel while exploring the Amish sites and attractions in Lancaster, PA. The hotel is absolutely fantastic, accommodations even better and the dining tops everything!

We stayed in one the Amish barn suites near the pool, which was so delightful we could have stayed forever. The room was detailed out and absolutely stunning. Clean, fine linens and wonderful special touches, like bathrobes refrigerator, funny pillows and more.

We ate at Osteria Avanti, casual, fun and very well priced. Get the porterhouse, just awesome.

Four thumbs up. We will be back!

Room Tip: Spend the couple extra bucks and select an Amish barn suite!

I have stayed at Leola many times in the past a few years ago for business. I stopped staying there because I preferred to stay at IHG hotels in Lancaster for the points (sorry Leola).
However last weekend we stayed there during a leisure trip and had the pleasure of staying in one of the suites in the Tobacco Barn.
Overall very nice: in my opinion, except my partner found it a bit creepy...
The room was a bit dark and the hot water was not really hot so the sunken bath was a quick lukewarm affair.
Be careful if you have a glass of wine at the bar though $16 for one glass is outrageous but the ambience is very nice.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice, however I would recommend staying either above the main recetion, those are...

This is not a typical chain hotel. The start of the hotel which is currently the lobby is a 1800 tobacco barn. It is nicely furnished and very cozy. My room was incredible. I arrived to soft music playing on the iHome and a bag of fresh baked cookies. This is not the place to bring a rowdy bunch. It is small and quiet. It does miss some of the usual services that a larger chain provides, but it makes up for it with a fabulous free sit down breakfast and a beautiful comfortable place to stay. There are 2 seperate buildings so expect that you might be placed in the seperate Lancaster house. This building is very rustic with exposed beams, concrete floors and open rock showers. But, the rooms there are also beautifully furnished. I have loved staying here. I think I will go and make some hot tea in the Kurig provided in my kitchenette.

Room Tip: I have only stayed in a regular king bedroom, but I have heard they have fabulous suites.
