Interesting free tour of the first commercial hard pretzel bakery in the US. Buy some at the bakery store to take home.

“Very interesting and fun”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

This was so informative about the way the soft and crisp pretzels came about. We had a great tour guide and it was amazing to learn how pretzels were originally made and how they are made now. Lots of fun!

“A nice place for a short visit”
Reviewed 9 December 2013

This is a good place to do quickly if you time the tour right. The tour is short but informative. It is a piece of history especially if you like pretzels. You'll learn about the making of the preztel at the site where it started. You'll even make your own. The store is attached and sells soft pretzels made on the spot. They are not Philly soft pretzels. It is quick and may not be what you expect. Free sample bag at the end of the tour. Staff is nice and very congenial.

“Didn't meet my expectations”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

Not the place for SOFT pretzel lovers. We were pretty excited about visiting the bakery and taking the tour but were disappointed once we got in there. The building looks like a historic storefront from the outside but once you enter it's a waiting room and two additional rooms where they sell you their goods. Unlike other "factory" tours found in Pennsylvania (e.g. Hershey's Chocolate World and Herrs potato chips) this is not a free tour. There was very little to see and hardly worth the trip.
