Sometimes when you eat out, you want something unusual, exceptional or different. Other times you just want to eat a good meal at a reasonable price. This place is good for the latter type of meal. Locals and senior citizens love this place. They make good breakfasts, their "soup and salad bar" is a good deal, the full buffet is pretty good too. Or order just what you want off the menu. I'm pretty picky when it comes to restaurants, but Oregon Dairy satisfies without surprises. Sometimes that is more than enough.
If you're visiting, they have some Pennsylvania-Dutch type food choices and the place is very easy to get to just at the Oregon Pike exit off US 222 (a bit north of Lancaster). Its not a tourist-oriented restaurant, though. Locals keep it busy.

We stayed at the Eden Resort just up the road and called the concierge for a breakfast suggestion. They suggested not their restaurant but the Oregon Dairy just several minutes away up the road. It is attached to a large market which we did not go to. There is ample parking. We had called ahead because we were with 11 people. They accommodated us within 5 minutes! They gave our children little goodie bags with a toy, menu, crayons, and teddy grahams. Wonderful! We also weren't sure if we wanted the buffet but figured for $9 and half price for kids it was worth it. There was plenty at the buffet and drinks were included with that. The food was amazing. It felt home cooked and was hot and fresh. Buffet attendants kept it refilled and clean. Fresh donuts and pastries, eggs, hash brown casserole was to die for, bacon, sausage, ham, hot buttered maple syrup. MMmm, i want more. Anyway, it was inexpensive, delicious, and perfect for our last day in Lancaster.

Stopped by with some coworkers for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised. Not fancy, not upscale, just good home cooking. The cooking reminded of really good homemade food. We also had a pleasant bubbly waitress named Amy.

Ate dinner there with my family last night. We all go the buffet. The buffet contains a salad bar, dessert bar, soups and hot entrees. It also includes hot side dishes like potatoes and mixed vegetables. For all of that food it only cost $13.99 per adult for a Sat night dinner buffet which isn't bad. Food is tasty and has PA Dutch items. The chicken and dumplings are very good. They used to have their ham balls on the buffet but this time they only had ham slices. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. They have a take out ice cream section which was very busy and had live music from 7-9. Also have an outdoor play area for the children and some animals. Overall very family friendly, good food at reasonable prices.

We arrived to a great smile from the hostess. We had to wait to be seated only five minutes. Waiter seemed a little overwhelmed but was pleasant. Food was great and tasty Had menu order as was more than enough food. They have many flavors or ice cream to choose from.
