“Nice hotel - clean and new”
Reviewed 4 October 2009

Nice hotel - spotlessly clean. Good breakfast typical of Holiday Inn Express. Quiet location. Free in-room wireless internet. Several restaurants within 1-2 blocks of the hotel. I liked it very much and would stay here again. I have already recommended it to friends.
We had a problem with our tv and told the front desk on our way out to our activities. The tv had been fixed by the time we returned to our room later that day.

This trip was two fold we dropped our grandson off at a friends house to check out a local bible college and also it gave us a chance to take in the local history.

Very comfortable hotel, nice rooms with comfy beds. Ours was 2 double beds, wifi, room had a microwave ,small sink and refrigerator. The room had a coffee maker and hairdryer.

We stayed 2 days AUGEST 28-30. This is a great little city with a very interesting main street with pretzel factory, unique shops and restaurants. The hotel is near lancaster and not far from other sites.

We would like to make mention of the personal attention we received from the front desk
specifically Natalie. She gave sugestions on places to dine. There are many buffets in the area and at her suggestion we went to Shady Maple Buffett near Lancaster and a brand new facility. www.shady-maple.com)
Fantastic menu and service very very large place. If you couldn't find somrthing here you liked I would be shocked (see menu). Don't be shocked if you see long line when you get there it moves swiftly we were seated in less then 5 minutes on the Saturday we went. There is a senior discount and free meal if its your birthday, tip is included in price.
On the way out they sell homemade pies etc. a lot of them were $5.99 each. After your dinner go downstairs to their gift shop it is a must. The place is hugh and a shopping destiation in itself.

My stay was nice, until I arrived home and received my credit card statement. Paid through hot wire, and through a computer "glitch" got me for $215 extra.

We had tree rooms booked for a weekend family outing. Our reservations were handled very well and check-in / out was efficient. The rooms were nice, very clean, decent size. The one "suite" we booked was smaller than I had hoped (just a small sofa in the "living area"). We enjoyed the pool and hot tub in the evening; it was clean and towels were provided. Breakfast was fine when I ate at 7:30 but the rest of my group had great difficulty / waiting to find a place to sit after 8:30 AM. They really need an overflow area when the hotel is full to accommodate folks for breakfast--maybe an unused conference room. I was disappointed in the lack of lobby / public space areas when compared to other similar price hotels (we paid $162-$189 / nite plus tax). There was basically no area outside of our rooms for our group to sit and talk. The breakfast area was always in use. The hotel seems to attract families / groups with teens resulting in a good deal of noise in the halls in the morning and some rough housing in the pool area at nite--would be nice if parents / chaperons would keep a better eye on this age group and teach them consideration of other guests. There was a selection of restaurants nearby and hotel staff was helpful with recommendations. We didn't notice (in the hotel booklet in the room) until after we had eaten there that the deli next door offers a 15% discount with a room key. Outlets about 1/2 hour away. I would stay here again when traveling alone but find another place better suited to a group.

This was quite a nice hotel, clean, quiet area, friendly front desk - HOWEVER, we stayed for two nights using our Priority Club points (free nights because we travel so much on business that we earn these rewards from the Holiday Inn chain). Upon check-in, I made sure to confirm that both nights would be free. When I got my Priority check out statement (this means the bill is put under your door in the morning of check out and you don't have any hassle waiting at the front desk), I was charged for one night. So I then wasted time at the front desk trying to straighten this out. It came out OK in the end, but how on earth would a rate be assigned to the room when I was told it would be free on check in? These screw ups do nothing to enhance the reputation of your hotel.

We just returned from a little family vacation with a nine and five year old. This hotel was perfect for our needs. The location is great. The hotel is in a safe area with plenty of stores within a mile or two. Hotel is quiet. Pool and whirlpool were great. Towels were fluffy. Room was very clean. Pillows smelled new and clean. Bedding was clean smelling. Bathroom was a fair size. Breakfast was very nice. While here, we loved the LASERDOME near Mt. Joy where we saw a lazer concert. Also, we liked the Julius Sturgis Pretzel tour. The Lancaster Science Factory had a lot of great hands on exhibits I had never seen before and the kids LOVED that. They even had a launcher for little plastic parachute men! That Fish Place aquarium store has a touch tank. Avoid Dolly the rabbit because I found out that she bites.

I feel that this hotel was only average - especially for the price - which increased a couple of times depending on when I called and who I spoke with. When it was just 1 room, it was a lower price - and then when I called back and mentioned needing a group of rooms the price rose significantly. Hum??? Well, booked it anyway. One person cancelled and got charged for the room anyway. It's currently in dispute and the manager was terribly rude about it. Oh, and in the one room there were ants. Apparently food under a bed left there for who knows how long---
