The food is amazing and the Service is even better. It's always our #1 spot for special occasions. Filet is great. My 5 year old eats the Salmon and Crab every time we go there.

Wonderful food, great service, BYOB. Something for everyone.
Don't let the old Dairy Queen building throw you off.

My wife and I have eaten at Bunha Faun many times over the years. The food, without exception, is excellent. However, as noted before in a previous review, the decor is tired and plainer than plain. We dined there again on Saturday night, and came away with the impression that the owners care only about the food, and not a whit about how this restaurant looks. It has two strikes against it to begin with, since it's housed in a long-defunct Dairy Queen, but that's not the worst part. The restrooms are in a sad state of disrepair---toilet tissue holders attached with one screw; many dead insects in an overhead light; walls in need of painting. The carpeting in the restaurant is in dire need of steam cleaning, if not replacement. The walls here also need to be repainted, and something should be done about the nondescript wall hangings.
It's a shame to downgrade a restaurant based on the "atmosphere," but atmosphere, decor, cleanliness must count in any evaluation of a restaurant, don't you think? I do. So as far as food goes, Bunha Faun earns a "5." Service is good, but not exceptional, and value has slipped, since the prices have risen considerably over time. In terms of atmosphere, BF gets a "1." Too bad, but maybe if they read this review, they'll do something about sprucing up the place....hope so.

JordanMax is spot on! Over the years, we have dined at Bunha Faun and never been disappointed. The escargot is sublime (every bit as good as Paris), Ceasar salad, green angel hair pasta, veal, anything I have tried has always been well prepared. Their specials are always "special". We have been fortunate enough to try many cuisines around the world and BF measures up to the best of them. I am not quite sure why some one would want have dinner at 5:00PM, but perhaps a more civilized hour would improve the experience. The excellent service is friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is rather drab and dated (my only complaint)

Tracey and David are prime examples that sometimes some people just can't be satisfied. Look at the past reviews. What makes more sense, that every other positive review of this place is wrong? Or just maybe that the two negatives are wrong? ;)

I've been to this restaurant quite a few times and never have I been dissatisfied with anything I've ordered. The trout was delicious and hand deboned (according to the waiter), not many places do this either. The lamb and filet mignon were cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauces were just perfect compliments.

My favorite part of this place is the atmosphere. It's quiet and subtle interior is relaxing and welcoming. The wait staff is friendly and happy to serve. It's not a loud and trendy hipster place, and that's what makes it a breath of fresh air. Sure the outside looks a bit odd (it DID used to be a Dairy Queen after all), but don't let that sway you.
