“Disgusting campground”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

My children (2 girls) have been begging and pleading to go here all summer. We just bought a 2010 pop up camper last spring, (18 mpg makes for nice travel!!!).
Their advertising is misleading. It is NOT a family friendly place, dirty, smokers and cigarette butts all over, drunken men and women hooting and howling from late afternoon to the early morning hours.
Our children were called all kinds of names by a few children there because we were in a pop up camper, NOT a mobile home. The irony of THAT was, all the children got along fine, but other kids were called back to their sites and told not to associate with our girls, that our family was "scum", poor, dirty..... on and on. Our girls were not allowed out of our sight to enjoy the park because every time they did, this group of kids harrassed and badgered them. We complained 3 times to no avail, just got the "we'll see what we can do" thing.
So sad it is that you leave your neighborhood, and city to get away from this type of behavior, only to find it at a place like this too.
When one of the children stole from our daughter I confronted management <kids> and was told if we didn't like it, to leave, and if we caused any more trouble, they were going to throw us out. I would not recommend this sight to anyone at all, except perhaps the state inspectors!
Pathetic excuse of a campground!!!

Over all tons of fun! Wish they had the rides opened more, hard for a three year old to wait, also a little more staff on the playgrounds. Teenage kids very nasty to the little ones, using bad words.(which by the way my 3 year old grandson told them not to say) and people not watching their little ones, little boy laying in the middle of road when we were driving up to our cabin,WOW, where was mommy! But with all that the cabins were great, nice and clean,Dance party real fun, but again teenager not acting very NICE.But we are already planning for next year, BUCKTAIL ROCKS

We stayed Aug 1-4, 2013 on site #84. We had a great time. The train, tower slide and carousel were so much fun as was the old fashioned fire truck ride on Saturday. Our son has a boot on his leg from having it broken and everyone was very helpful and accommodating for him. Mini golf is a nice course. Our boys age 10 and 7 loved it. The zip line was fun, ball house and Bucky Ball were also fun, though balls need some inflating. Great pirate ship and castle. The batting cages need improvement along with the pedal train near inner loop playground. The pool needs a solar cover....very cold. The sites are tight but we didn't find ours to be as tight as some of them there. We were supposed to be on site #44 and we called a week before and changed after looking on Bing maps. So glad we did. Other reviews have said it is dirty with trash all over- we did NOT find this. All staff were friendly and helpful, though some smoking while working which is inappropriate we feel. They do need some stone on the main drive and in front of where our site was as the dust was very bad when vehicles drove by. There also should be a staff member driving around after quiet hours have started to quiet people- teens- down at night. We did witness a staff member sternly speaking to a few in the store as they were summoned to the office for complaints were apparently put in. That was good to witness. Overall we had a very good experience and there is so much to do we did not have a lot of down time except on Sunday after the rides were done. We will be returning next year so our one son can experience all Bucktail has to offer when he can walk without a boot and get on everything. We recommend bringing your family here if you have small children.

THE REVIEWS ARE SPOT ON WHEN THEY SAY: SMALL SITES, OUTDATED KIDS EQUIPTMENT, AND RUDE STAFF.

We traveled over 3 hours to get to central PA and picked a campground that we thought would be perfect for the whole family, we have teenagers and small children. The website was very misleading. To start with traveling off the highway exit to get to the campground was difficult. The directions were very poorly marked. You end up driving forever on a dirt road, which make you think you have gone the wrong way. When we arrived we read the directions on the office door that told us to find our campsite and they would see us in the morning. So we did. Our campsite was very small in width, super long in length and not even close to level. The sewer connection was so far back that our hook-up line would never reach it. We have a 24 ft camper. There was no way we could have put our tent next to our camper without encroaching on the sites next to us. Also, there was a large puddle of standing water right on the site that had a ton of mosquitos. We were swatting them like crazy just standing there trying to make a decision to stay or go. The website makes it appear that this is a perfect place to take your kids because of all of the amusement park-like attractions. Wrong, the playground looked very unsafe with old equipment and everything else looked extremely run down. We ended up leaving and found another campground nearby in Covington that was fabulous. When I called about getting part of our money back, just paying for the traveling through nightly fare, they were very rude and would not budge on it. Since we traveled over 3 hours to get to this so called "kids paradise" we were very disappointed.

I am normally not this person and have debated this post for days but I have decided to speak out. We took the boys to Bucky's campground in Mansfield last week. It was to be like camping at an amusement park. I am posting to tell you all I do NOT recommend camping here. I did my best to make sure the boys had a good time over all and enjoyed themselves. We should have came home and discussed it every night but our money was nonrefundable. I majorly regret not coming home now. When it rained the smell sewer lingered in the air. While we ate lunch on Friday the neighbor sprayed his camper off with Clorox in a pressure water and the smell of bleach was so bad we had to go inside. The majority of the children ran around with out parents or any supervision. Kids ran around with pellet guns or real looking assault guns pretending to shoot kids on the playground. The teenagers took over the ball pit swearing and fighting. We had to leave the ballpit several times due to the teenagers and this was Ethan's favorite thing to do. They had a carousal and a train but it only ran for 15 to 20 minutes twice a day. The train had pretend animals to look at while you are on the ride and most of the animals were broken. The pretend deer had no legs and was just leaned against a tree. The skunks feet remained but no body. It was disturbing to me. They didn't have a kiddie pool. The pool was so full that there was no room for us to swim safely with the boys. There were many areas of stagnant water that they hadn't tended to. The campground had a ton of garbage thrown around in it. Half the games in the arcade didn't work and just took the boys' money. The kids dance party we went to and left because all the songs had swearing in them. Parents ran around carrying their alcoholic beverages around the playground. The good things were: Minigolf was free and it had a huge minigolf course. All the rides were free and that was really nice. They had a waterpump in the huge sandbox that the boys really enjoyed and they enjoyed the sky slide. They also had a tractor/wagon ride and a firetruck ride with Bucky that the boys really liked. I am usually not one to complain out loud or trash a place but this was not what I expected by a long shot. We paid $66 a night to camp here..I expected wonderful..I was highly disappointed!

We just spent a family camping weekend. The park is clean. Yes, it is "dusty" but it is camping. We stayed in a Bucky Lodge. Very nice! We walked the entire campground with our 2 dogs (lab mixes). Didnt have to get back in the car till we left. The staff does not tolerate undisciplined children, I seen previous posts stating the staff was "mean". Everyone seemed very friendly. Many free things to keep the kids occupied. Mini golf, music entertainment, crafts, train ride, carousel, pool, fire engine ride, hot showers, play ground areas, walking trail, my kids loved the mini zip-line and a beautiful view! We played bingo for $1/card- 10 games. $.35 Popsicles :) and an arcade. Many season rental people there. But totally worth the ride and money

Room Tip: The Bucky Lodge has running water and a toilet :)
