“Perfect atv getaway”
Reviewed 13 January 2014

We first stayed at the forest lodge in the fall of 2006 on a last minute whim.We have been there every year since and intend to be there in 2014..It takes us over six hrs to get there and is always worth the trip. The forest lodge and the town of Marienville is like a home away from home to us.It is not the Hilton. The rooms are modest, clean, and cozy, like a rustic cabin.it is the ideal place to stay on an atv vacation. We live in a very busy city where everyone is always in a hurry and want to get away from that.Take the time and get to know Frank and Sue and you will see they are genuine great people. They aren't just the owners to us they have become our friends. It is a great family atmosphere there and they work hard to keep it that way.I cant imagine trying to keep dozens of riders at a time from turning the place into into a muddy wreckage without ruffling an occasional feather but anyone who leaves there having a problem with the hospitality likely has problems wherever they go.if u are looking for a simple old fashioned good time and like to ride, the forest lodge is where its at!The trails are awesome and I cant say enough about the hospitality from Frank and Sue,and the people of Marienville for that matter.

Frank & Sue were so helpful in making the arrangements for our large group!
We stayed in the hotel rooms, basement apartment & cabin. The back field behind the accommodations was perfect to set up activities like corn hole & kick ball, and there was a swing set for the kids. We felt like we were in my Grandparents back yard having a family cookout!
We felt it was a perfect location & plan to return again in the future!

We really like this place. We've stayed there twice an would happily go back again. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is it isn't fancy, and I don't want anyone to have false impressions. Everything is as clean as can be. If you like ATV riding and being out in nature, this is the place to be.

I stayed here last weekend. If you have a big rig you will have to request the top of the hill. The campsites are beautiful. I have a two wheel drive and lots of weight so I had trouble with the campsite hill. He should have made the campsite up top for RV's. If you have a small trailer or tent its great. Fire rings tables no problem. Place is very well kept and clean.

The guy William that slammed this place must own a campground nearby or something don't listen to his gibber gabber, some people are never happy.

The hotel and showers are real nice and inexpensive. The owners are great people. Direct access and RZR, UTV friendly trails.

So many trails you will never do them all in a weekend. We will be staying here often.

Me and my family have stayed at teh Fores Lodge seveal times. The location is great and the rooms quaint and clean. The owners, Sue adn Frank couldn't be more helpful and friendly. It's a great place for a few days or a week to relax and enjoy the forest.

My husband and I have been staying at the Lodge for over six years now, and we always go back. Frank and Sue are just like family-and they couldn't treat us any better! The Lodge has direct access to the Allegheny Forest ATV system which for us is just wonderful, because we do not have to trailer our units and we know they are safe at the Lodge. Frank is firm and clear about the rules and we wouldn't have it any other way. He and Sue are fun to be around and they are the people to see to tell you where the best places are to visit and eat. They have always gone out of their way to make us comfortable and we value their friendship. We almost always travel with a lot of friends, taking up the white building and some of the red brick building-and even some have tented-where we enjoy the night time camp fire!!!

Room Tip: They even have a large family room under the White building for those who like to stay together!

We've stayed at the hotel many times over the years and it's our home away from home. It has great ATV and snowmobiling access and wonderful hospitality. Clean rooms available include a choice of 2 doubles or 2 twins, some with A/C, some non-smoking, some for pet owners. Linens are fresh each day. Each room has a microwave, fridge and satelite T.V. It has campground available. Some with power and others are primitive style. Each sight has a picnic table and fire ring with gravel pads for parking. Showerhouse available for campers. There is beautiful scenery on the property, with direct access to ATV and snowmobile trails in the Allegheny National Forest. Frank and Sue are great with offering help with trail maps, restaurants, and sites to see. There is a lot to do in the forest...fish, hunt, ATV, snowmobiling or sightseeing.....just ask Frank and Sue for help in planing your stay. Recommended for the outdoor-style family.
