“Another great time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 December 2012

My wife and I stayed at Pocono Palace for the 7th time this week. As always, we had a great time! We got upgraded to the Roman Towers suite, which is an amazing room.

We were a bit sorry to hear that our favorite CXO, Dina, was off at the beginning of the week, but Rob more than made up for it! The activities were fun, the entertainment was great, we had a great time. We can't wait to come back for the 8th time!

My wife & spent another few days at Pocono Palace. It was fantastic. We love the staff-Theresa, Matthew, Gina, Stan, Beverly, Josephine....etc. are just great! Also, some $$ is involved, but for the $$, it is really great! We can't wait to go/to come again to our favorite place in the Poconos. If you want alot of activities, you can have lots of activities. If you want to relax & just reconnect, it is perfect. The food is VERY GOOD & the variety has something for everyone. Friday Night, for the Pasta Night, is GREAT. Although we didn't stay for Saturdays, we have experienced STrip Night & it is OUTSTANDING! We plan another trip to Pocono Palace just as soon as we can!

Room Tip: We stayed in Champagne Towers, but have experienced other rooms as well! All are excellent.

Our trip to the Pocono Palace was fantastic, we had a great time. The food was delicious, loved the room, the activities and the entertainment. Very relaxing and the setting was peaceful and quiet. The service was excellent too. We plan a return trip next year.

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2012

We just came back from 3 nights at Pocono Palace. We had booked for 4, but decided to cut it short because we really didn't want to stay any longer. If it wasn't for the fact we were meeting some other couples Saturday night at the resort we would have left after 2 nights.
We have stayed at the other 2 resorts in the Poconos that are part of the same company (Paradise Streams and Cove Haven). We knew going in that the resorts are a bit old and outdated. What really disappointed us was the food and entertainment.
Thursday - We arrived around 3:00 to check in which went smoothly. Headed over to our room to unpack. We booked the Fantasy Apple, and were offered an upgrade, but we wanted to see what this room was like so we declined. In the past we had stayed in the Champaign Towers so we knew what they were like already. The room was okay. There was a musty smell in the pool area, and some dirt on the carpet. The shower was really old and stained. At first my wife thought it wasn't clean, but then we realized it was just old.
We settled in and went to dinner just after six. It was a sit down meal (no buffet this night). The food was good, but the coffee was weak and a bit cold. After dinner we want to the lounge for the entertainment. They had bingo which we played, but there wasn't really anything going on that night so we called it an early evening.
Friday - Got up and went to breakfast. We ordered some eggs from the kitchen which were good, but again the coffee was weak and warm at best. Non of the days activities interested us much so we just played some pool and wandered around a bit.
That night was a buffet dinner. It was suppose to be Italian night, but there were hardly any Italian food. I guess they eat tilapia, cod and roast beef in Italy, but not what I call an Italian night. I think they had one or two choices that I think fit the billing but not much. The food was mostly cold and over cooked. We didn't eat all that much.
We went to the club that night which was a DJ and a group of comedians. The DJ was okay at best. The first comic was Brad Lowery. I have seen him before. His act is about the same as the DJ,,,,just okay. The second comic came on (don't remember his name) and he was just terrible. Other people must of thought so too as several couples called it a night and walked out. We stayed through his act, but after that we were done and headed to our room.
Saturday - We headed to breakfast which this day was a buffet. Everything was cold, and my wife found her biscuit was not really cooked after bitting into it. The middle was doughy and raw. She didn't like anything on her plate so she figured a bagel was a safe bet. The bagel was hard as a rock. I told her to order something from the kitchen, but by then she was done. On the way out I told the hostess what we thought of the food. She told us she was sorry to hear that, but didn't really seem to interested. Oh and the coffee was the same.... weak and warm.
By this time my wife was done, so I headed to the front desk to shorten our stay. I told Matt who was working at the time that we weren't enjoying ourselves, and didn't like the food. He seemed upset, and refunded us our Sunday stay. There just didn't seem to be any desire to try and make it better. Basically just here is your refund sorry about that.
Dinner Saturday was more of the same. The steak was tough and the chicken was dry. It was hot this time so I would say one star. Just to torment myself I had coffee. Weak and not even warm with time.
Entertainment Saterday night was a band GDJ on Fire. They were good and we got up to dance. Half way through a comic came on and again he was terrible. It was more like being at a funeral then a comedy show with how quite everyone was. By the end even the comic didn't know why he was there. The band came back on and we stayed for the rest of there set.
Sunday - We got up and started to pack. Usually we pack and go to breakfast before leaving. As we packed I told my wife I couldn't deal with another bad meal. She agreed and we just headed out. It was a meal I had already paid for and couldn't stand the thought of eating it.

I have been to these resorts 8 times and after this stay I just can't see myself going back. I really feel like I wasted $1100. It sad because we had such a rough year and this was the only time we could actually get away,
This is the first vacation where I actually lost weight, At least I don't have any extra workouts this week to get rid of the vacation fat.

This was my wife and I first visit here and we were skeptical at first but loved and enjoyed every moment at Pocono Palace. This was our babymoon for our first child and this was the perfect place to come to, to relaxe, forget about our responsibilities, and enjoy each other. Our CXO (Dina) was outstanding and we look for to coming back once the kid is born. Wish there was a place like this in my home state! Outstanding and so much fun for the value!!!

Cove Haven Resorts are a mountain resort all of it's own. It was the best choice to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary/6 years together. We chose Pocono Palace out of the 3 possible resort destinations. The room we picked was the Garden of Eden Apple Suite. This is the best room for the price and accessories. Anyways, what made our trip so great were the individuals that worked there. The first person that stood out from the rest was our waiter Joe. He was a very high class young man with skill and talent that no one else there could compare to. We always requested his services for every meal. He did not disappoint. Very friendly and professional. The second person that stood out from the rest was the guest services representative Matt. He was very friendly and always made us laugh. We connected well with him and his personality was second to none. He was very helping and understanding with all of our needs and requests. He always had a smile on his face, and he always had no problem placing one on ours. The third and final person that stood out from the rest was our CXO Dina. We were so lucky to have booked just at the right time when she was the hostess and event planner and organizer. She gave us our tour of the entire resort, planned fun and entertaining activities, and booked the best live entertainment for this time of the year. She always made everyone laugh, and helped make everyone feel very comfortable and accepting at an adults only resort. If she was not the CXO at the time of our visit, I guarantee you that we would not have had as half the amount of fun as we did with her being there. The best rates to go here are booking in October and booking between October and December. And, whats really great, is if you book and a better rate is offered through email, they will honor that price, and you will save even more. This is a great destination for those of you who are looking to relight your fire in your life with your husband or wife. It is also a great destination for a honeymoon, anniversary, or surprise birthday gift. The food was excellent, the activities were excellent, the room was excellent, and the staff were excellent. The improvements that could be made are the following: First, lunch should be included with the total cost of the stay. Second, non-alcoholic beverages should be available for free throughout the entire stay and be included with the total cost of the stay. Third, the arcade game fees should be included with the total cost of the stay. Other than that, it was a great experience and I expect to be back soon!

Room Tip: Garden of Eden Apple Suite

This is our second time back, the first time was on a free hotel night through Starwood, we decided to go back but have been sort of balking at the price. It is a bit pricey, but when you think about what you're getting...pool, jacuzzi, saunas and the ultimate in privacy that includes your food...it's not that bad!! We spent two nights in a Fantasy Apple suite, and were thrilled. Overlooks the lake with a private balcony, with a private plunge pool, sauna a jacuzzi, and a see through floor to look down into the pool. Is it dated??, yes, is it cheesy??, yes, but as long as you can embrace these factors and understand what the purpose of the hotel is, you can really enjoy yourself!! Not a lot of activities on site due to it being fall time, but we weren't looking for that. We enjoyed the food, the friendly staff and are didn't want to leave. We're already talking about our next trip! Our only negative was a bad server int eh restaurant on Saturday night ..but we brushed it off and carried on with our good time! Would recommend to anyone looking to reconnect, or just want to have some fun with your significant other! Hopefully with the ownership change we will start to see improvements over time. We definitely noticed an increase in response time to our many requests for extra towels and ice, and a much friendlier staff overall. A few hints on how to save some cash are in the room recommendations....check em out!

Room Tip: Fantasy apple suites are on the water, we originally tried to save some cash and booked a fairway su...
