We've been staying at a number of KOAs recently and were disappointed by this one. The grounds are very attractive and the staff friendly and helpful...but. You knew there would be a but. Our site was beside the road which looked like a country road on the map but was in fact very busy with trucks, cars, motorcycles roaring by. Noisy!!
The pull through site was the smallest (narrowest) we have ever seen. There was about 6 feet between us and the next rig and that included a picnic table and their cords and drainage hose. The gravel we stepped out on was wet from his water connections (I hoped it wasn't his drainage hose.) When we got there he was polishing his rig and had to sit at our picnic table to do it because it was so crowded. The dog run was behind the washrooms and maintenance shed at the far back of the property and was very small. Our dog stepped in and asked to leave. I hate to give bad reviews but this is pricey for what you get. Hopefully you can find a better alternative if you are camping. I suspect the cabins would be better here because they are away from the traffic noise.

We loved our recent trip to Erie! We went with family and stayed at the KOA in Mckean. We had a small cabin. Perfect for our family of 4. My sister had a deluxe cabin, perfect for her family. Our cabin was adorable! I loved all the little touches. We had a really pretty little hanging basket. We didn't spend much time at our site as we were with family and they had a deluxe cabin with bathroom and flat screen t.v. We did have occasion to use the public restroom and those were always very clean. The entire camp site was clean and well maintained.. The location of this campsite is close to Waldimeer and lake Erie beaches. We loved our trip so much we are planning to make it a yearly vacation. Next time I think we will get a cabin with a restroom. The kids loved the pool and there are things to do there everyday, but we were very busy seeing the sites to use them. Take extra bread along to feed the fish.

From the check in to check out, our stay here was wonderful. Staff is quite professional and courteous. Like other KOAs, they escort you to your site, not really necessary here as the park is fairly small but a nice touch. We stayed in a deluxe pull through site, number 54, that had a nice concrete pad, patio set with umbrella, and a BBQ. The site was beautiful. In fact the best of any site we've had on our trek from Nova Scotia to Colorado. As for the park itself, it was extremely clean, seemed to have lots of activities for children and a nice pool. We will definitely return here again in the future.

Room Tip: Spend a little extra and take a deluxe site.

Loved our first stay at a KOA. Facilities were modern and my 4yo and 2yo loved the pool and the goats. Great time! Will return! Sites were a bit wet but we had an unusually wet week. Stayed four nights and would have stayed longer :)
