Roland and Judy are welcoming and gracious hosts. The rooms are comfortable, spotless and the property is beautifully appointed and maintained. I would highly recommend the Alpenhof to anyone traveling to the Philly/Media area. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Stayed here while attending a conference in Philadelphia. The train ride to and from the city was nice, relaxing. Judy and Roland are wonderful people, who made my stay so nice. My room was VERY clean, and my bed was so very comfortable. It had everything you need for a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing stay. The breakfast was excellent - fresh fruit, coffee, and hot breakfast made to order. I will definitely stay here again!

A week before Christmas Eve I realized that I needed 2 rooms to stay near Media with my partner and his family. Roland was able to accommodate, and I am thrilled that he was! We were only able to stay for one night, but we cannot wait to return and spend more time in the cozy sitting room (complete with wood-burning fire). The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and the breakfast was phenomenal. There was a very wide selection for breakfast, including vegetarian options and fresh fruit. Roland has a story behind every piece of furniture, inch of wall decoration, and fixture in the place, and is clearly passionate about providing a wonderful experience. I cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: For a family, Roland's Room (1 Queen bed) and Otto's Room (2 twin beds) will share a bathroo...

Media has an absolutely terrible selection of hotels... the Alpenhof makes a stay in the area enjoyable! We spent 3 nights over the Thanksgiving holiday and felt right at home. The food is over the top, and the hospitality is warm and welcoming. Only disappointment was no bed make-up or towels each day. Would stay here again in a flash!

Our apologies concerning our lack of attention over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Normally, our policy is to change over towels and remove trash from the bedrooms on a daily basis; and a changeover of fresh sheets and a bathroom cleaning every three days should you be with us that long.
Hopefully you’ll forgive us? Twenty-four on Thanksgiving for dinner and 14 staying in the house that weekend was more than Judy and I should have been handling.
Again, our apologies.

My wife and I stayed at the Alpenhof for a week in October (13-20) for a family vacation and a wedding. We spent several days watching our grandchildren. The Alpenhof was a wonderful place and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Judy and Roland were great with the breakfasts and in going over and beyond in helping us make the sitting enjoyable. The breakfasts were to die for! The pastries were really good.

We also enjoyed the diverse people that stayed and visited during our breakfasts. We would recommend the Alpenhof highly to anyone visiting the Philadelphia area.

Bruce and Janet B.

Room Tip: If room is a factor, we recommend the Master or the cottage for additional space.

During our travels from FL to PA last month, my husband surprised me with one of the most beautiful bed and breakfasts I have ever laid my eyes upon! We had the opportunity to stay in the cottage for 4 nights, and I wish we were still there. The property is gorgeous with beautiful gardens and stone walkways. We enjoyed the cool nights sitting outside on our private patio overlooking PA woods. The cottage itself is clean and marvolus with a home style/romantic feeling; and the bed is so comfortable that we even bought the same mattress when wee returned to FL! The main house where breakfast is served is turkey enchanting; from the history of the home to the decor, every detail down to the tableware . Judy is the most wonderful host and AMAZING COOK! Thank you for opening your home to us! Vielen Dank für Ihre wunderbare Gastfreundscaft!

We stayed here in September 2013 for a wedding. It was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast, and our experience was excellent. We were in the Master Suite, and it was roomy even with two small children. Breakfast was made to order, and was better than what you'd get at any restaurant. Highly recommended. We'll definitely stay here the next time we're in the area.
