Buttonwood Campground

The campground is made for RV's, it is clean but close together . My husband and friends booked the a tent site as an end of season camping trip. We have an 8 man tent and are used to camping "in nature". They have 5 tent sites, 3 of which are right on the street so headlights, revving engines and noise are a nightly event and 2 of which are literally on the historic Mexico cemetery...creepy! The sites themselves were adequate with a picnic table and a firepit but the location was poor. 99percent of visitors are RV'S so if that is your thing, you will enjoy it as the campground is well maintained. Just don't expect a rustic camping experience if your tenting.

Thank you for your visit to Buttonwood Campground and for your honest review. We do everything possible to make sure that our visitors have the best experience, and we're sorry that yours was not so. We hope that you will consider staying with us again in one of our primitive tent sites, which are a little more private. But we understand that you may be looking for a different type of campground. We hope that you have an enjoyable camping season next year!

The campground is located right along the Juniata River. It is a large campground offering much for families with kids. Bath houses were clean, the office is open late, nice pool. Average price per night $45. One downside, a train runs along the other side of the river at all hours. Would stay again.

We go to this campground a few times a year. It's about a 2 hour drive and the drive up is beautiful. There is a lot for the kids to do. We get them a wristband and they can play all weekend on the pedal carts, bounce pillow and putt putt golf. They have activities that aree fun for the whole family. There is a train that makes a lot of noise, but I don't even mind it because this campground is so great. The staff and owners are so nice and accommodating. By far the best in my book!

The campground is situated along a nice stretch of the Juniata. Bring your kayaks or money to rent some while you are here. It is a clean campground with above average bathrooms. They offer activities for kids. The $17 wristband is a little pricey for the amenities that it offer. They have friendly and helpful staff. This has to be the quietest place that I have stayed for camping. It includes locked gate protection too. This is a nice place for a family looking to get away for a few days.
