We located the motel a half a mile north of the downtown Milford traffic light on route 6/209. Check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. We were delighted to have a designated parking spot next to the front porch of our assigned cabin and were even more delighted when we entered our room. It was appointed with a queen bed (extra charge), an apartment sized refrigerator, coffee maker, A/C, radiator heaters, two sitting chairs, a medium sized TV, phone, alarm clock, full bath, clothes closet, small corner writing table and chairs on the wonderful front porch. It was beautifully decorated in a "Touch of Country" motif. Most, if not all, of the units are arranged in two rows, facing a large common lawn in back of the main office. There are several picnic tables and grills available for guests to use. There was an ice machine, information rack with pamphlets about local attractions, and microwave available in a room at the back of the check-in building. The cabins are nicely insolated from road noise by the check-in building which is a short driveway off the East side of the road.
We were very impressed with the well-maintained look of the units and the overall feel of the motel facility which was established in 1945 and family owned/operated ever since. After driving into the center of town for dinner, we realized that we could have (should have) easily walked. The active downtown historic area is loaded with interesting little shops, historic buildings and restaurants. It was a beautiful late-July evening and there were lots of people eating in the many outside serving areas. We are so glad to have discovered this wonderful motel and could easily imagine staying here a week instead of only our planned two days.

This motel won the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award 2014 for good reasons. The staff is friendly and very responsive. The cottage I stayed in was VERY neat and clean. It was comfortable and offered free internet service. It is close to the center of Milford which offers good dining and great shopping. Considering Milford is a popular recreational and vacation area, the room rates are more than reasonable. The decor is somewhat dated (50's), but I stayed there because it was convenient, reasonably priced and had good reviews....not because it was written up in some style magazine. When visiting Milford again, Myers is the place for me. I will not even consider anyplace else (unless I have to because it is completely booked!)

This motor court style motel has 10 (?) double and single units, each is self contained and offers a large grassy area with BBQ's and picnic tables.
The units are generous, clean and reasonably well appointed.
All units have a porch with chairs and table.
Your are only a ten minute walk from Milford, however, sidewalks are scarce for the first few hundred yards.
This was our third visit here and would stop here again.

Main considerations: This place is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. Also the motel layout is pleasant - lots of open spaces, very nice plantings, enough space between units that neither noise nor lack of privacy is of concern. And they have the perfect motel dog: friendly but not overly so. Totally harmless but makes a show of not letting go of his (her?) end of the stick.
This was my 3rd stay there and I see no reason to investigate / risk any other lodging in and around Milford.

If you would like a quiet separate cottage in the Poconos, Myer is the spot. Decorated in Victorian style with bedding and brass beds, it also swings to the modern with a mini-fridge, coffee maker, television and good air/heat. A year round place to stay in the center of the active Pike County seat, it is run by the third generation of owners. The grounds are immaculate with flowers. I have stayed here off and on for about ten years and there has been no change in comfort. For a place you can count on in Northeastern Pennsylvania, go to Myer.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Welcome to the Myer Country Motel where for over 68 years our standards of innkeeping excellence have been our trademark. Nestled among the Pocono Mountains of North Eastern Pennsylvania, the cottages sit on four acres with blue spruce and white pine trees lining the courtyard. The Myer Country Motel was established in 1945 by Ralph and Matilda Myer. Ralph remarried in 1952 to Audubon Winfield and they together continued to run the motel well into their 80's until their daughter, Audubon Cox, took over in 1975. She brought her energy and knack for decorating to the motel to give it a country home feel. Many people comment that this is their "home away from home". In June 1995 the third generation took over to continue the family business. Today you'll find the same warm, country friendliness that has set us apart for over 68 years. We hope you will visit us soon! ... more   less
