My family and I stayed at Hotel Fauchere for week during a business trip. The hotel has a cozy atmosphere and the staff is very attentive. Every night, the staff left cookies and milk for us along with a bedtime story. My daughter wanted to roast some marshmallows and the staff prepared a fire for us in the garden. We came out to the garden and found blankets and marshmallows waiting for us. I will most certainly bring my family back for another trip. The hotel is small but the service is top notch.

Regarding reviews of this hotel we find it repulsive that anyone who has stayed at any Relais would even consider giving this hotel a grade. We arrived on a weekend and after checking in went for lunch waiting forever to be given water on the outside porch. To add insult to innury after ordering they brought the wrong order. We made reservations for dinner, with , guaranteed seating as a hotel guest only to fnd that all tables were filled and were seated on the outside porch which was freezing. Then further add insult to iour stay there was a boys night out next door, at their other property, which kept us awake for the remainder of the evening. This is the worst Relais we have ever stayed in which makes me wonder how much they paid to be rated. Oh! and the tasting menu...they had at least four tables empty all evening and informed us they were booked solid.

Room Tip: Do not stay here

I wish this guest had said something to either of the owners (one or the other of us was present all last weekend) or to any of the management staff about their dissatisfaction while they were at the hotel. What they describe is unfortunate and, for us, very unusual, as reflected in our more typical reviews. But when things do go wrong, we always bend over backwards to try and make amends.

The complaint that they were kept awake by noise from the LGBT event in the Patisserie building next door to the hotel is odd. We monitor the noise level at events in the adjacent building very carefully to make sure music doesn't get too loud. No other guest even mentioned hearing any noise. The only noise that could have been heard from inside the hotel was if someone had the windows open in their room and heard people going to or from the parking area. But even still, the event was over shortly after 11 pm.

There are times when the stars seem out of alignment and everything seems to go wrong. Sometimes that is the establishment's fault, sometimes it is a guest in a mood that can't be fixed, and sometimes it is a combination of both. Fortunately, that doesn't happen very often.

What these guests described shouldn't ever happen, but if they had brought their concerns to our attention we could have done something about it. We didn't know they were upset until the morning they checked out and just threw the keys on our guest services desk and walked out. And then began posting intensely negative reviews, like this one.

This is such a lovely property. They have very cute rooms with great bathrooms. Also the restaurant is truly outstanding. The staff could not be more friendly. I would highly highly recommend the Hotel Fauchere. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Try the Cafe next door especially their Granola

We stopped in Milford during a day trip to the area and stopped at the Hotel Fouchere for breakfast on the patio. Food and service were great. I had a fantastic egg white omelet wi kale and feta. My husband had yoghurt and fruit plate - best yoghurt ever! They mix it with vanilla pod, cream, and other yummy stuff...beautifully presented. Checked out the lunch and dinner menu...outstanding choices with great commentary by the chef. This was one of those unexpected treats. Service was lovely. Wandered into the hotel and found a really beautifully restored and managed hotel with a lot of character. Definitely recommend a stop there or even better, a stay!

Extremely attentive staff, nice rooms, excellent food. We really enjoyed our stay for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. The manager was very helpful in suggesting things to do and providing information. All the food is amazing and almost all local. Definitely a perfect place for an escape from NYC.

Myself, my friend and her dog stayed at the Fauchere for a nice long weekend. The place was great and the staff was soooo friendly. They had dog biscuits and bowls waiting in the room for the dog, who was just beside himself with the friendliness of the staff (and other patrons). And the food (and drinks) were outstanding. While we could've enjoyed the included continental breakfast, we simply couldn't pass up the Eggs Benedict with crab! Delicious! We ended up eating all but two meals at the hotel itself. And to add to an example of the friendliness....one night we got back late from exploring the area and I was really anxious for something sweet. Well most everything was closed by this point and I made mention of it to the "front desk" as we entered...next thing I know knock at our door with cookies and milk. Seems simple, but made our stay.

Besides the hotel, Milford was great! Hiking, kayaking, waterfalls, shopping and more!

Excellent service. Everything from a nice glass of wine while checking in to the server bringing me a blanket because I was cold on the porch and he wasn't able to turn off the fan. The room was tiny. That's a downside and we were in a room 1 notch up from the standard I believe. The room was clean and the bathroom was perfect, great walk in shower, nothing run down, good mattress, clean bedding. The breakfast it came with was delicious. Definitely would return when we can afford it again.
