I recently stayed at the Comfort Suites in Monroeville on business. I was having trouble finding a room anywhere in the Pittsburgh vicinity as everything was booked because of a Steelers football game. I got the Comfort Suites' last room and they were still willing to give me the government discount ($108). The staff was phenominal...you could tell customer service is a focus for this hotel. The room was fabulous. It had a large flat screen TV, a small flat screen TV in the bathroom, microwave, refrigerator, etc. The rooms are very modern and the bed was super comfy. I would definitely stay again and will be recommending to my colleagues who travel to Pittsburgh. The hotel is in a great location...literally right off the PA Turnpike. The only downside was it was a 40 minute commute to downtown Pittsburgh leaving at 7AM.

Very contemporary, more like a "boutique" hotel than a chain. Room was large and comfortable. Beautiful bathroom decor. Close to many restaurants and turnpike.

I stayed here for a solid 35 days as part of a job -- I was glad to come to this hotel as home for all that time. It is somewhat upscale with modern-style fixtures (sort of funky, in a good way). It is not quite down-homey as other Comfort Suites I've stayed in (for instance, no cabinets and no second sink), but certainly acceptable, with a nice powerful mini-fridge and microwave in each room. Interestingly, each room has a sort of panel next to the door that has an actual doorbell for each room, and buttons to press that say "make up room" or "privacy please" (instead of little cards to hang on the doorknob). The soundproofing is very good, I only ever heard the occasional yelling down the hallway, and never anything form someone in the rooms next to me. The toilet has a power-flush system that keeps it from clogging up (though it can't be flushed twice in a row until at least 20 seconds have passed). The bathroom sink is a large red bowl on top of the glass surface. The shower has a good amount of force behind it, with an adjustable shower head. The cleaning staff are very good in cleaning the room thoroughly every single day. There is a computer and printer available downstairs for guests to use for free, and a small but clean workout room with three machines. There are a couple of vending machines on the first floor as well. Near the front entrance is a nice area to sit around in, and where they serve breakfast, which is pretty good. There is also free internet (both with a cable and wireless). The area around the hotel is also very nice, with many shops and businesses (and many good restaurants) nearby. They treated me very well over the course of 35 days, and I would be glad to come to this hotel again.

If the hotels in Pittsburgh city center seem too expensive for you and if you need easy access to I-76/I-376 try this hotel. It was about 20 minutes from the Mellon Arena area to this hotel by car on a Sunday afternoon. 5 minutes from the hotel back onto the highway. Weekdays allow more time in rush hour traffic. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It still has a brand new feel to it. Beds are great. Bathroom extremely clean. Employees helpful and courteous. Breakfast was substantial - didn't need to get extra food elsewhere. Big chain restaurant down street good for burgers etc. Only down side this is not a picturesque area. If you are looking for views/history/touristy things to do don't choose this-Stay in city center. The area felt safe to drive in. Strip mall 5 mins away with Starbucks, big chain clothes stores etc. Definately choose for ease of access to interstates, cleanliness, comfort and value for your $.

I was travelling to Pittsburgh this past weekend for a concert, and rooms in the city were too expensive. Saw that Monroeville in general had a lot to offer (mall, restaurants, etc), so decided to stay in the burbs. The hotel is brand new, and still looks it. There was a minor glitch with my room not being available after the 3pm check-in time, but the issue was resolved, the room was cleaned, and I was given my stay at 1/2 price.

The rooms were HUGE....we were in a handicapped room, but it was so spacious. Microwave and fridge, lots of updated lighting, LG flat screens in the main room and a smaller version in the bathroom, computer desk, large bathroom....on and on. I did not get to enjoy the breakfast (needed to hit the road), but it smelled yummy!

We stayed one night while traveling through the state. The hotel in new and the rooms still feel it. Our room had a large flat screen in the main room and then a smaller one mounted to the bathroom wall. The shower was walk in and there was a side chair and table and a desk /office chair in the room. The room also had a microwave and mini fridge and the kids loved using the doorbell to enter the room. The fitness center is small and consists of a treadmill, elliptical, and a workout bench/weights. There is no pool at this location. They offer a complimentary breakfast that consists of fresh waffles, eggs, sausage, pastries, fruits, and cereals. The hotel is close to 22 and 376. The staff was pleasant.
