“Damp and Mouldy”
Reviewed 29 December 2017 for a stay in September 2017
person found this review helpful

The smell of damp was apparent on entering the apartment. The beds, sofa and carpet were all damp, it was almost impossible to get any sleep for the whole week that we stayed. There was evidence of black mould in the bedrooms and both bathrooms, the lavatory seat in the en-suite was cracked in half; who knows what germs were lurking in there? The heating was not adequate to dry everything out for the best part of the week.
When we complained to the letting agency they told us that the owner acknowledged the possibility of damp, but refused any form of compensation as he had had the soft furnishings cleaned prior to our arrival and it wasn't his fault that the place wasn't dry.

Management Response
9 Jan 2018
Thank you for providing your comments. I can see we have been in touch directly regarding issues experienced during your stay. The owner had the carpets and soft furnishings professionally cleaned prior to your booking, and unfortunately they had not dried completely for your arrival. Due to this, a gesture has been offered and accepted by yourselves. The owner has since replaced the toilet seat.

“Beautiful apartment !”
Reviewed 7 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

A lovely apartment with a cottage feel in a perfect location . It’s an apartment but you have your own drive and front door . I think the building used to be a hotel and it’s been converted into a few apartments. It’s been really well done, lovely furnishings and decor . Everything you could want . Large double bedroom with an En suite and a separate beautiful bathroom with an amazing bath !! Open plan living and kitchen area . Not huge put perfect for a family of four .
It’s a five min walk to a stunning beach and where you will find a coastal path with breathtaking views ! The Minnack theatre and the Telegraph museum are both 5 mins walk from here too .
It’s a great location to explore this part of Cornwall . Loads of places to visit . Porthcurno is down a narrow road which I expect gets very busy in the summer .
A great place to stay !
