We love this diner and travel here for Sunday dinner. Good food, great prices and Elizabeth is our favorite server. Friendly, right on top of things and always makes grandma feel special. See you Sunday!!!

“Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

A friendly welcome was waiting for us after a long day of cycling. We arrived a bit gritty, it wasn't a problem.

Delish chicken gyro, and chicken Caesar salad. Great fries.

Friendly service.

Located up on a hill. Dining area has a beautiful view of the River Gap area.

“Basic diner fare with some regional favorites that give the place character”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 December 2012

My dad eats breakfast there early every Sunday morning, and when I visit him, I go along. I have made several such visits over the past couple years and the food is consistently good and prepared as ordered.. Wait staff are attentive and pleasant even at the crack of dawn on Sundays. We always have scrapple with our eggs, a regional specialty that is not often seen on menus anymore. It is always perfectly crisp and golden brown on the outside, and soft and smooth on the inside, with just the right amount of spice. It is never greasy, which can't be said for the scrapple served at some establishments. The potatoes that accompany the breakfast plates are homemade, not the processed, oval cakes of tasteless, extruded or shredded frozen starchy stuff that pass for home fries or hash browns at so many places.. Coffee is typical, diner variety as are most of the toast choices, but the rye is a cut above, another regional favorite that adds to the Mom & Pop character of this diner--it's not just another soulless, corporate chain with predictably bland,,over processed, mass produced, menu items supplied by a national food distributor. There is nothing fancy here, just real food served by real people,at competitive prices. The exterior isn't much, but depending on the season, the parking lot offers a scenic view of the Delaware Water Gap in the distance.

“Even eggs are bad”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2012

How do you mess up eggs at a dinner? Ask Mt. Bethel Diner. They overcook them no matter how you order them. That also includes everything else they serve here. Want your burger medium? Nope your getting it well done and the waitress will swear up and down to you that is a medium burger. The bacon is burnt. The toast is burnt. The sausage is burnt. Everything is greasy. Don't bother to ask for anything on the side because they are going to add it in anyway. I have been here a few times, I am not sure why. Gluten for punishment maybe or the convenience. Even the coffee taste burnt. The desserts are crappy as well and not homemade as they like to tell it. The waitresses are mean old ladies that remind me of lunch ladies. The place is not clean and the walls look as greasy as the food!
