“It's not a dive anymore...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

Reviews on others sites called this place a dive, but it was close and we were hungry, so we gave it a chance. Not disappointed. $6 for buckets of 4 domestic beers, good food with large portions. The potato skins and quesadillas deserve special mention for the price. Service was friendly and attentive.

“Had lunch on a saturday”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2013

Lot of space, food is ok, not kids friendly, wait staff great, management not so much...looks new , have a lot of specials that always end up to not being really specials but the place is clean and lots of space.

“Casual Dining Near the Top of Our List for Mount Pocono”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2013

The old Burke's Tavern was destroyed in a fire in 2011, and has since been replaced with this one. There's a big-enough parking lot in the back with an entry door by the smoking deck into a cavernous room with a U-shaped bar off to the right. We were greeted by a "wait to be seated" sign, in the middle of it all, where a cheerful server quickly intercepted us and said we could sit wherever we wanted. With only a few customers on Tuesday night around 7, the place was still noisy. Sound travels and is amplified inside Burke's. You can hear a customer shouting into a cell phone from across the room.

Burke's is a bar that serves food. There's a wide selection of draft beers. The bloody Mary we ordered met expectations. "You can taste the horseradish in there!" Leave the little ones at home.

The menu is surprisingly extensive with appetizers, nachos, wings, shrimp, sandwiches, salads and a couple entrees We heard the Reuben sandwich was a specialty. The server confirmed this to be true and offered it on a "hoagie roll" or rye bread. Ha! We also ordered the fish and chips in a basket. The fries are offered in six different styles. Pretty cool.

Our pub dinner was served fresh from the kitchen and actually, it was all really good. Service was great. The place is clean. The overall dining experience exceeded expectations.

Casual dining options in Mount Pocono are limited. Burke's Tavern earns a spot near the top of our list.

“Good Pub Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2013

I met some friends for lunch a few weeks ago. The menu is a bit overpriced for pub fare, but the Triple B Wings that I ordered were tasty. I wouldn't order the blue cheese again, as it was a
pre-sealed tub of nastiness - they should make their own blue cheese dressing for the wings. The atmosphere was nice - very spacious, and clean.

“This Place Has Revived”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2013

The old Burke's Tavern was badly in need of revival! Visited this tavern this month and found that it was totally rebuilt - the old place is gone! This new building has a large bar and an adequate, well appointed dinning area. The food menu is limited, but there is no problem finding some good pub food to enjoy. Our group of four was very satisfied with the food and the service. Prices are very reasonable - great value. One potential downside - This new building has a very high ceiling and no visible sound absorbing materials - I suspect that if there is a loud crowd at the bar, it would be a very noisy atmosphere. Recommend giving this one a try.
