“Date Night was awesome!”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

Just before a convention we like to have a great "local" dinning experience. We arrived for date night and the 4 of us had some really great food. The waitress helped with our time limitations and it was just a really fun time.

“Good bar food at a great price.”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

Another place we have passed by many times. Tonight our destination was Shugars across the street, but the sign on the door stated "Sorry we ran out of bread again, we are closed." So we decided to cross the street to Coakley's, so glad that we did. We enjoyed everything about this little pub. We liked that the dining room was separate from the bar area. The food was delicious and the price was extremely reasonable. Our waitress told us the menu had been revamped and the prices reduced. Our choices of Fish and Chips and Shepard's Pie were standard for an Irish pub, but did not disappoint. The haddock was light and flaky, the steak fries giant, crisp on the outside but tender on the inside. The shepard's pie was flavorful and good to the last bite. The yellow cake with ganache was tasty but I found the cake to be dry. We enjoyed the quite atmosphere on this Tuesday night. We have seen this place packed on some evenings.

“Disapointed Doesn't seem to be the same quality as years before ??”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

Took a half hour to get a draft beer. Had to eat a cup of over cooked chili without the beer. Food was so so. . Back to the beer.. Pint of Troegs was $6.50 X 2 $13.00 Waitress said it was expensive because it's imported. Hershey is 15 miles away??.

“Ruined”
Reviewed 29 August 2013 via mobile

If you ever have to wonder how a place can be run to the ground this is the model of how it's done. I had been a patron of Coakleys since 1993. Food was always good nothing fancy but well prepared pub fare. Great choices in craft beers before other local restaurants caught on with a staff that was knowledgable about the product. Since the original owners sold the staff is constantly rotating(never a good sign in this business) food in last 2 yrs has gone from sub par to downright horrible. Wish someone would turn it back into the comfortable neighborhood bar/restaurant that it once was....

Thanks for your review I agree with alot of what you said. That's why we brought on Chef Jeff Utzman who has already completely revamped the restaurant. From the presentation to the preparation to the spices, he has reinvigorated the staff and given new life to the four new menus he introduced over the last week and a half.

Try us again and see what changed for yourself.

Again, thanks.

“Interesting”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

We were in New Cumberland, PA on Memorial Day. Most of this little town was closed for the holiday. This restaurant was downtown, a short drive from the turnpike. We sat outside and had a bottle of white wine and a shrimp appetizer that was very good. Price for wine, by the bottle, was reasonable. I cannot tell you anything else.
