New Freedom is a few miles off the main highway, but it seems to be a charming small town. This place seems to exemplify that. It's a small restaurant/cafe, but on a cold morning, a group of four of us enjoyed some pretty good sandwiches. Dad and I had the knuckle sandwich - a sandwich with egg and cheese and for my dad, smoked ham, which he enjoyed. I didn't enjoy my turkey sausage quite as much as he did but still good. Fiancée and my mom enjoyed their lunch sandwiches, which come with some garlicky popcorn for a side.
Kudos to a small town restaurant trying to make it work with fresh and healthier ingredients and food. Plus, it looks to be in an old rail depot, so there's some charm there as well. Glad we stopped there. Friendly staff as well.
