New Hope Lodge

We were surprised by the quality of the rooms when your paying close to $200 per night and then for half a day into the evening have no power or water. You would think that someone would have been proactive in communicating a message to us other than us having to search out someone that could at least give us some sort of reason but with no time frame. Then to try and enjoy the evening at the Raven and when my bf (who's hispanic) tried order a round of Tequila for some friends, he was told by the Bar Tender (in the Elk Room) that it was $16 per shot and if he had money to pay, in which he responded yes. The bartender continued to ask him in a very condescending way if he had money to pay. After the third time of the bartender asking him, I stepped in and said, Yes, have money. That's when he got offensive which we were just trying to defend ourselves and he became aggressive and and called security on us. We were asked to leave but Security and the Manager were very apologetic cause they could see the bartender was in the wrong but said we must leave since it's his bar. That was our first and visit. Good luck if you have any hispanic friends that want to be served without any questions if he/she can pay for it at the Elk Room (Piano Room).

Room Tip: Very basic Motel Rooms

On behalf of New Hope Lodge Team, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that was incurred on the evening of Sunday May 25, 2014 by a blown transformer causing a power outage at the New Hope Lodge property, and as consequence no water, lights, or air conditioning were available in your room.
As disappointed as you were to experience this event, we were equally as disappointed. While we were facing challenges to make our power company understand that we were a facility at capacity and conduct business 24/7 we couldn’t wait for the next day repair; we contacted Solebury Police Department to create immediate attention. Therefore, they dispatched a repair truck team; who determined it would take at least two extra hours in addition to the time already lapse from the original call; then an extra half hour to install the new transformer. It is quite a strain to be told that you will be without power for half the day. It is an even larger strain when you have all house guests and the rest of new hope room’s sold out. We did make our efforts to communicate this effectively with all of our guests but information was changing as much as the next minute. The most unfortunate thing is that now we have you as an unhappy guest and us as an unhappy customer.
We strive to ensure that our patrons experience the best visits possible during their travels and we fell short of our goal this time. To prove to you that we take every inconvenience seriously, we have credited your account for the amount equal to sunday night stay.
Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience that you incurred but hope you understand that the nature of this event was not by choice. The public utility companies are under a tremendous amount of strain to try and keep up with the ever growing demand for power and with growth forward, sometimes there are set backs.
In matters to the incident at Piano Bar; the bartender who flagged your Hispanic boyfriend was only doing his job; only after your boyfriend becoming rude and demanding. As General Manager, gay and Hispanic myself, I can assure you that discrimination is absolutely NOT tolerated in our establishment. LGBT community has been through enough for too long; we have a simple rule: "Be Nice or Get Out".
We do hope that we may have an opportunity to serve you again in the future and that you enjoy your time with us in your next visit to Bucks County. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or comments concerning your stay.

This establishment is right across the street from the Raven a well known gay bar. It is owned by the same. If the gay bar scene is not to your taste, you will not be able to change your mind. As a person traveling will sometimes book rooms site unseen. make no mistake, the owners will not allow you to change your mind. We were expecting a rustic lodge along the lines of a state park. As advertised on the internet this lodge resembled this. I believe the closeness to the party crowd should be made clear!

this is across the street from the Raven and a stone throw away up the hill.
Rooms are very clean and kept comfortable.
They have a little bar called the Cub Room with an adjacent pool.
The bar has a really nice room that you could have a nice sized party for most any occasion.
Give it try!

My sister and I met here to celebrate our birthdays. New Hope Lodge gave us a place to call home for a long weekend. It is comfortable, clean and homey. While cookie cutter hotel rooms serve a purpose, the retro accommodations felt warm and comfy at the end of a fun day of shopping and visiting the local wineries. I would suggest New Hope Lodge to anyone who wants to spend time in the New Hope area.
The sign at the lodge instructing you to check in at The Raven across the street was not big enough and could include where at The Raven to check in . There did not seem to be an obvious main entrance to The Raven. Our room was exceptional for comfort and cleanliness my average Service rating is for the check in process.

Even though the website said all the rooms were renovated, they weren't-- the room we stayed in ( rm #5) was awful. It smelled like mildew and it was very dark and dingy. We asked for another room, but we were told there was no other vacancies. Had we not prepaid in full, we would have left. I don't recommend this place at all. Stay somewhere else-- there are nicer places closer to town.

Room Tip: There are 2 rooms that have 2 queen beds and wood floors-- suppose to be nice--

I stayed there recently with my sister. We met up in New Hope for a quick minute and I found the Lodge online. It was definitely rustic. When we arrived, the heat was off in the room and it was freezing.

I had to search to find out that you have to check in at their sister motel across and down the street. It would have been helpful if I'd have been told about this at booking.

The cost was surprisingly low for this area so I really wasn't disturbed by the lack of hotel conveniences.

There is a bar onsite that was fun to hang out in.
