We ate in the restaurant for the first time on a Friday evening. (We did not stay in the B & B.) The restaurant is in a restored barn that is beautifully decorated with lots of memorabilia and farm implements. Our meal was served family style by a very pleasant server. The food was outstanding and the service was great. She took time at the beginning to explain how the dinner would be served and all of our choices. The food was satisfying for everyone at our table. Desserts were great too. The pumpkin pie was delicious. The menus are published in advance so you can plan ahead... prices are fixed. There is no alcohol served.

By the way, there is live entertainment on most Fridays. The performer on the night we visited was a solo pianist who was great!

We stayed in one of the cottages far from the main property. Although the cottages are a little bit of a walk from the main house, the privacy was nice. Since two cottages share a wall and porch, it might've been a little awkward had we not been traveling and staying next door to our friends. The cottage room is comfy but a little rustic. Think more "glamping" and less hotel room. Due to the wood stove in the room there was also a pervasive smoke smell that did bother my allergies bit...

All that aside, we really enjoyed our stay. It is quite a drive from town, but with all the tourists it was kind of nice to escape. The innkeepers are charming and welcoming. Breakfast in the main house was delicious. We also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The portions were ridiculous and everything tasted great. We would stay here again if traveling with friends.

We were on our way home from our honeymoon and wanted to extend it. Plus, my husband had never been to Gettysburg. Well, we almost felt guilty not doing more touristy stuff and visiting many of the historical sites. We were so relaxed and felt like we had our own little get a way. Mary Lynn and her staff were helpful and upbeat. The breakfasts were devine and dinner was great too. Plus, Mary Lynn even has a cookbook you can buy to bring those meals back home with you when you leave. We stayed in the main farmhouse and the accomadations were great. Whirlpool tub was so relaxing. We cannot wait to go back.

This trip we stayed in the cottages. We loved them! So peaceful and quiet there! This will be our go to place every time we visit! The food in the old barn was fantastic! The staff is very friendly and attentive. The grounds were astonishing!

Went to Gettysburg last weekend and stayed at HBF. We stayed in the farmhouse which is beautiful and overlooks a small creek and covered bridge. The grounds and flowers are beautiful. Food was very good.

On May 21, 2013 we had the opportunity to spend the night in cottage 3. We were traveling with friends who stayed "next door" in cottage 4. What a beautiful place. Cottages were lovely. Decorated very nicely. Even included a fireplace stove (which we didn't need, since the temps were in the 80's that evening!). Staff was wonderful, providing us with directions to our destinations for dinner that night and sight-seeing the next day, as well as information about the farm and it's buildings. No TV reception, but each cottage equipped with DVD TV combo unit and store had movies for us to borrow. We had comfortable chairs, in the room (as well as the bed) and the cottage porches had chairs as well. So sorry that we could not experience the wonderful dinner that we heard about, as the restaurant was not open the evening we were there.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious and plentiful. This was my husband and my first bed and breakfast experience and it was very positive. No complaints!

Room Tip: Loved the cottages, but may try a room in the main house if we stay again!

We returned again to Hickory Bridge this time for a relaxing, cozy and romantic way to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We love Cottage 2 with its proximity to the sounds of the rushing stream and private location in amongst the woodland. When we were there, no one else was staying in the cottages, so we had the place to ourselves. We brought some homemade sangria and snacks and sat out on the patio for hours talking an enjoying each other and our surroundings. It was a slightly cool night so we left the one window open so we could listen to the rushing stream as we slept...how relaxing.

As we were checking in, the housekeeper met us at the door and was so welcoming, and as we were leaving, Mary Lynn the innkeeper/owner stopped planting flowers to talk to us about our stay and the improvements that are ongoing on the property. This place is very welcoming and like a home away from home.

We'll be back for sure.

Room Tip: The cottages are the best for location and privacy.
