“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 27 May 2012

Just spent the weekend in the Country Cottage. This is our 5th year. We love the location of the cottage. Like having the mini fridge. The beds are very comfortable. We always come back!
Will treats us as if we were family. Terese served us a wonderful breakfast.
We will be back next year.

This has only been my second B&B vist (the first was 14 years ago) but it has confirmed what I've heard from many sources: B&Bs are the way to go. The 1825 was well-maintained, had all the amenities you could ask for, VERY convienent to Hershey, and had a nice piece of property you could walk if so inclined. The owners were very hospitable and gave some great advice for our next stop in Lancaster. This was our 19th anniversary trip and I'm glad we chose to stay at the 1825. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again the next time we're in the area.

My friend and I celebrated our 50 birthdays together by spending a day at Hershey Park riding rollercoasters, and then dragged our tired 50-year old selves back to the 1825 Inn for the night. It was just delightful... The Innkeeper is very friendly and helpful - providing information and suggestions about local restaurants and attractions. Decorating, renovating and restoring this beautiful home has clearly been a labor of love - and you can feel it. This home is an oasis of peace and serenity, even though it is located in a very developed suburban area on a fairly busy road The rooms are cozy and the decor is quaint and very sweet; and when you wake up, you can hear the birds outside in the trees, There is a lovely breakfast porch with guest amenities, and relaxing sitting area and yard with benches and a swing. The innkeeper's sister-in-law, 'T', made a delicious breakfast with sausage, a German apple pancake, fruit and juice. And btw - 'T' is a real sweetheart; friendly, cheerful and all around wonderful human being. I can't wait to go back and take my husband with me next time! I'll drive the 2+ hours up to Hershey just to stay at the 1825 Inn. I highly recommend it. Lisa Bishop. (Fairfax County, Northern Virginia)

We stayed in the Country Cttage and it was a very nice getaway for us. The room was private and looked just like the pictures. The chocolate bar on our pillows was a nice touch! This was our first stay at a B&B and we loved it.
The Inn Keeper was friendly but not overbearing which was the right style for us.
We had our own table for breakfast and were served delicious stuffed french toast.

Room Tip: The Country Cottage is a very nice place to stay if you don't want to be in the main house with...

We recently stayed in the Country Cottage. It was neither located in the country, nor was it in any sense a cottage. In fact, it's a made over garage located behind the Inn both of which are located in an stunningly unattractive residential area. It was unpleasant and at a rate of $265 per night it's an exceedingly poor value. Had we not been exhausted, we would not have stayed the night. The photos and write-up are not representative of the reality that awaits you.

The Innkeeper's sister was friendly and polite. That is the only positive comment that can be shared.

Wow, I am so surprised at this review. During check in nothing was mentioned that anything was amiss or not meeting expectations. Our website shows pictures of the Country Cottage from many angles including outside of the building. Numerous guests tell me that the pictures don’t do the room justice but the room looks even better than the pictures. The Cottage building was built in the 1800’s as the summer kitchen and has had many other uses, including a wood shop, before it was converted to the Cottages. The price of the room is $239 which is a great value considering the amenities that are included as compared to the other local hotels. When checking in you made only positive comments, had you expressed your dissatisfaction I would happily have helped you find other accommodations more to your liking, but I was not given that opportunity. I am so sorry that I didn’t meet your expectations.

If comfort, quality, friendliness, great food and amazing service are important to you... This place is for you. From the time the innkeeper opened the door and welcomed us in, we were treated like life long friends. The room we stayed in was also very nice and comfortable. They have the softest sheets. We slept like babies.. only to wake up to an amazing breakfast. Anytime I'm in the Hershey area there's only one place I'll be sleeping... The 1825 Bed and Breakfast.

We stayed here because we wanted to have a B&B experince while visiting the Amish country. were greeted by a very cheerful woman named Therese, who showed us to our our room up a flight of stairs. We stayed in the Amish Room, which was just large enough for a king size bed, filled with too many accessory pillows. The bed linens were not crispy. There was a shelf beneath the ceiling molding which contained a collection of plates, and on another wall, a collection of Amish clothing hanging on hooks, and on another wall, reading materials and two chairs. The bathroom was so tiny that the sink had to be put in the bedroom too! There was no room for our personal items. Breakfast was at 9am and was ok at best and not generous. The path outside was loose brickwork to becompleted at a later time, and not too safe for walking.
