We tried Pamela's for breakfast on a recent weekend trip to Pittsburgh based upon the reviews that it is one of the "go to" places for a morning meal. On the whole, it's a decent value for your money. You get plenty of food, so you shouldn't go home hungry. The standouts were the lyonnaise potatoes and the spicy chorizo sausage patties. If you order eggs, the aforementioned are nice accompaniments. Their "signature" crepe style pancakes (we ordered ours with fresh strawberries) were surprisingly nothing special. In fact, they were very ordinary! Perhaps a little vanilla extract or other flavoring added to the batter might help give them some distinctive flavor. This is not a place that will make you savor the memory of some culinary masterpiece. But, you can't go wrong having breakfast here if you happen to be in the area.

Always enjoy this place when we visit Pittsburgh. We usually get the delicious crepes, but this time we decided to try the omelets and we are glad we did. The service, food quality and price make this a no brainer in Pittsburgh.

Pamela's has good omelets, eggs, and other tasty breakfast fare. Their pancakes are actually crepes, which can be fun, but if you want something a bit thicker and more filling, go for the waffles. Coffee is good, service is attentive and brisk. They don't take reservations, so you may have to wait for a table on a Sunday morning, but try going on a weekday around 1 pm and you probably won't have to wait. They aren't open after 3 pm, so no dinner.

Visiting Pitt with my daughters, we were looking for a real diner breakfast, and we found it at Pamela's. Plenty of choices, not expensive and right in the middle of campus. Decor was fun,, and staff were extremely friendly. I'm looking forward to eating here again.

Pamela's diner is a favorite of many Pittsburghers. There is always a line out the door and a wait! The food is wonderful and there is something for everyone!
