“poor quality”

It must have been decades since Hilton invested in the hotel. Our rooms were bait and switched. We booked there after been shown renovated rooms on the higher floors, but when we all checked in we were assigned unrenovated rooms on lower floors. No hot water twice during visit. Rooms were worn out. No mirrors. Old functional layout. Miniature bathroom with no counterspace. even though the hotel fixed the bathtub drain it did not work the next day.

Lack of local knowledge at reception required a AT&T office they looked it up but could not tell me how far away it was (200 mts) Lack of bath mats for the shower requested them received a face washer. No stirrers was given a desert spoon for a pot of tea missing it's lid.

When you think of Hilton you think of the best, but this Double tree was the worst. The rooms were noisy, moldy and dirty. The staff was nice though. I am not sure who they have cleaning their hotel but they should be replaced.

Even though I live less than away from this hotel, I was attending a business meeting and my company put everyone up. The staff was extremely friendly. My daughter was going to be in town for one of the nights, the front desk was able to switch me to a room with 2 beds, a suite actually. It was wonderful and i got to see my daughter! The one thing that was lacking was there is no pull off area to drop off your bags and unload. You pretty much just stop on the street at the curb. It can be very chaotic with cars, taxis, shuttles and traffic. The location of the hotel is perfect if you're going to Consol Energy Center. But to be in town for any festivals at Point State Park, or games at Heinz Field or PNC Park, there are many other hotels more convenient to those locations. If you do stay at this hotel, Pittsburgh is not that big of a city, so walking to the stadiums or Point State Park is very doable, plus there is a subway station right across the street from the hotel which is very convenient.

For whatever reason, Pittsburgh hotels have high occupancy and I found myself here. It's well located downtown. The front staff is very nice and attentive. The rooms and restaurant are functional, but no more. The fitness center is slightly below average for a business hotel. Fine if rates are reasonable. It would be a disappointment at premium pricing.

I like to put D-Tree up above other hotels because of the front desk experience. This time, the female manager that checked me in, must have been experiencing a really bad day. She was short and to the point, no smiles, no warmth. 9 times out of 10, this doesn't happen.,

I had lengthy flight delays and didn't arrive at the hotel until 1:30 a.m. and only had a few hours before I needed to get up for business meetings. The front desk staff was so helpful and nice. Instead of a cookie, I asked for and they gave me a diet coke for my morning wake-up and offered to give me a wake-up call every 5 minutes if needed. Brian and Venus were great! And when I checked out, the staff was very helpful and the shuttle driver was great too. Unfortunately, I didn't get to take advantage of any hotel amenities, but they appeared very nice and I'm sure the next time I go to Pittsburgh on business I will stay at this hotel again. Rooms big and pleasant and quiet. Bathrooms could be bigger, but adequate room and very clean.
