My & wife and I were impressed with the Priory after we found it. We very SO very impressed & pleased after our one night stay. The mixture of old (antique) & new (technology) was greatly handled inside our room. The original room fixtures entwined with the current technology was almost seamless. From the front desk staff, to the concierge & from our room to the breakfast area everyone was so helpful and everything was so hospitable and comfortable. This property gets our personal "two thumbs up" & our 5 out of 5 stars. We are more than pleased and the Priory WILL be our first choice when staying downtown.

Room Tip: Some Exterior rooms give views of the Pittsburgh skyline!

We were so pleased with our stay at the Priory for a little birthday getaway. As an architectural historian, I can fully appreciate the care and expense that went into the restoration of this building. Thank you for keeping so much of the original building intact as you converted it to great hotel space. We enjoyed our cocktails at the bar and breakfast was also wonderful, a true Continental breakfast. Looking forward to our next stay, hopefully when it's warm and we can enjoy the courtyard.

Twenty-five years ago, we spent our wedding night at this charming boutique hotel. It has since expanded, and is as lovely as ever. We had a queen bed room with a small bath (toilet and shower). The sink was in an alcove of the bedroom. Everything was well-kept and clean, and the room nicely appointed. There was a small table, armoire, dresser, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffeemaker, flat screen TV, and safe. There is complimentary parking and WiFi. The hotel is convenient to the downtown, and even more so as they provide a free shuttle service. The room was as quiet as you would think in a priory. We had a nightcap in the cozy Monk's bar, and enjoyed breakfast in the refectory the next morning. Offerings included breads, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, juices, coffee and tea. It was so nice to go back to this quaint corner of Pittsburgh.

Had a wonderful stay at the Priory for a girls night out this week....Hotel was beautiful and rooms were luxurious. Friendly shuttle driver (Henry!) took us to a yummy dinner in the city, then drinks in the Monks Bar. Everyone there was great and fun was had by all! Complimentary breakfast in a quiet dining room was sooo relaxing....

We had a great visit at the Priory Hotel, the staff was friendly and very helpful as the city seemed to shut down after a concert and we were starving the helped us find a pizza place that would deliver. The overall hotel was beautiful and the Monks "mini" bar a fun place to hang out. Our queen sized room was large and very well appointed. If I could change anything about the services is I wish the shuttle would have run later into the night, but aside from that my only complaint is that we had to leave so soon! Look forward to visiting again someday.

Great service in a hotel up north, you better believe it. The Priory prides itself on its impeccable service, which is topped off with complimentary shuttles even in blizzardesque weather. My wife and I traveled to Pittsburgh for a belated 30th birthday celebration and the Priory helped make the trip one we will never forget.

The hotel is an old monastery with plenty of cool passageways to explore. I’m not an architect or an interior design buff but I can tell you that this place is charming, nice and just feels like the place you would want to take your significant other when in Pittsburgh. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and the atmosphere was great. One caveat is that the walls are a little thin so you might hear some noise from other neighbors’ rooms when out exploring the innards of the old monastery well past 11 p.m.

The front desk folks accommodated every request and the bar serves up old-fashioned drinks with top-shelf liquor. Again, it’s the service that puts the Priory over the top. Breakfast is filling and also top-notch with a wide array of cheeses, meats, breads along with eggs, juice and coffee.

We look forward to visiting in spring or summer when we can walk to a Pirates game, Primanti Brothers and enjoy another wonderful night at the Priory.

I wonder if this place can ever be called as a 'hotel'. I would say cheapo holiday inn or other places were much, much better. Small room, not much uniqueness, and located in a questionable area. Do not go there!

First, let me state that we are deeply disappointed that this guest had a less than satisfactory experience with us. It is our goal to ensure that each and every guest at our facility have has comfortable and peaceful experience, and I am sorry that this did not occur with this guest. Unfortunately, we did not hear directly from this guest, so it's hard to ascertain what the problem was. It also seems that this guest's experience is not indicative of the vast majority of people who have stayed with us, as evidenced by the reviews within this website. I will state, however, and have stated in these pages previously, that if a guest is somehow or other unsatisfied with our product I would encourage that guest to contact either me or our General Manager directly and we will make it right.
