If you want to sleep well in this hotel you need to chose your room very carefully. Do not be taken in by the staff explaining that "the piling exceeded all specifications" and best in class sound insullation was used. These may both be correct, but they are insufficient to insulate the noise from frequent 50 car+ freight trains that thunder past day and night. Even during the small hours the frequency of these trains leaves one astonished at the efficiency of the US freight train system. Talking with a number of guests, it seems that the noise is much more of an issue in the rooms nearest to the line, as would be expected. However that does leave locating a quiet room a little too much to chance.
Otherwise the concept of the hotel is good, the rooms are large and modern, everything works, this is a pleasant hotel, and the staff are friendly, and it was clearly popular and busy.
Breakfast is a do-it-yourself affair, porridge and dried fruit, muffins, danish pastries and the like, bagels, and a small hot selection. Juices, teas, coffees etc. All served on disposable polystyrene plates with plastic cutlery.
The gym is small and not well equipped for the size of the hotel. There is a very small pool.
Overall for the price this is an intereesting formula and not bad value - were it not for that train track and noise. That alone reduces the overall rating considerably and makes it difficult to recommend this hotel.
