I went to the Bangkok Balcony a couple times. They have good pad thai. I like the atmosphere in Squirrel Hill. I'm from upstate NY. It reminds me of Ithaca, made me feel at home.

I love going to Squirrel Hill for dinner or lunch and walking off the calories on Forbes by checking out all of the little shops.

The shops range from shoes to the new Cherry antiques shop - which features some very cool stuff. There are also some great ethnic shops with beautiful moraccan goods, you can buy wonderful instruments and music - we saw a rosewood bagpipe for $65. We bought some qualityfine jewelry and the restaurants are fun. We were disappointedthat the Argentinian cafe tango was closed, but the tea place soothed us. Pamela s pancakes is a Pittsburgh legend and Cafe 64 c - is ok. There are excellent pizza and ethnic choices and kosher options ( not always findable in the burgh).

has alot of different options on stores. From food to other places to visit the parks are great. There are alot of great points of history here as well.

This is a great area for little dining spots, shopping and Pitt and Carnegie Mellon students. Convenient to the college campuses and very walkable. Youthful center.
