“Good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 May 2012

Although the parking lot was under maintenance, It has plenty of space dindn't have a problem with that. I liked the spacious room, comfy bed, breakfast and fast check in - check out, didn't like the fact that is not easy to reach you can't see it from the road, it is located on a hill so you have to deal with stairs carrying your luggage. It also don't have printer service, which I might think that for the price should have..

We stayed at the Comfort Inn Conference Center near Monroeville, outside of Pittsburgh, in April for the first time. We were mainly just looking for a place for two adults and two young kids to sleep, and an indoor pool to enjoy in the morning before we left. The hotel is older, and some improvements are needed to the pool area, but overall for the price, this hotel was just what we needed without breaking the bank. The pool is much larger than a typical hotel pool built today, and we had it all to ourselves in the morning. The rooms are standard, nothing fancy, but clean. There was plenty of room for the four of us, and the main level rooms on the back open right into the parking lot with sliding doors, so it was so easy to load and unload the car. The bathroom is small, but again, remember this is a Comfort Inn, not the Four Seasons. The free breakfast in the hotel restaurant was a nice addition that added to the value. As for location, it's a short drive (barring traffic through the tunnels) into Pittsburgh, and a very short drive to the Monroeville shopping area which pretty much has all the stores and restaurants you could want. We'd stay there again.

Room Tip: If you have a lot to bring into the room, ask for one on the main level in the back so that you can...

This hotel has gone through various names and owners over the years and it is remarkable that they are still in business but it is overall a good hotel. The hotel is large and very spacious with a very nice indoor pool. They offer a nice free breakfast buffet with self made waffles. The rooms are adequate not especially impressive but always clean. The quality of the restaurant depends on who is working that day, sometimes the food is good sometimes it is mediocre. The same with room service. What I like most is the pet friendly atmosphere. If you have a dog, including large dogs, it is probally one of the most pet friendly hotels in the area. There is a lot of outdoor walking space and my dog loves it. There is a $10 charge, and they usually give you a room on the lower level with a sliding door so that you can easily get up at night and walk the dog.

Room Tip: If you have a pet ask for the lower level rooms

Wasn't too impressed by this hotel. Cookie cutter design, extremely small bathroom. The paint outside of our window/balcony door was peeling. Restaurant was not prepared for the amount of guests it booked this weekend and the servers were overwhelmed. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated having a fridge and tv in the room. Can't say I'd want to stay here again

Room Tip: view from any window wasn't anything spectular. The hotel is located just off the freeway so you...

My wife and I stayed one night, in a room with king size bed. Everything was clean, rooms appeared recently re-done. Ours was spacious, front desk staff was friendly and helpful (we forgot a cork screw), and there is a decent restaurant. Overall, we would stay there again.

We preferred to stay in this hotel as we got a special rate for those who are visiting the nearby (5 to 6 kms) SV Temple in Monroeville, Pittsburgh. The Hotel is located south of the happening Business road on a small hill and hence the atmosphere is quite and sober. The hotel could not seen from outside. Additionally it is pets friendly too as we had a 8 months old lab who enjoyed the stay in that place. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We took two rooms and in one we had a old tube 21" TV whereas the other one had 32" LCD TV. The breakfast was standard but the dining hall was spacious with enough tables and chairsg unlike in other hotels which are small for the same category. Front desk staff were friendly and courteous. We did not have any major issues as we enjoyed our a day's stay in that hotel.

We stayed in a room on the second floor (or third floor as they call it) with a king sized bed. The room itself was nice. Ample pillows and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of channels on the tv to choose from. Windows opened and the air/heater worked fine. No strange odours. We didn't see an elevator or ramp, so the 4 little steps to carry the luggage up to our floor might be a problem if you had mobility issues.

We had no problems with bugs or deteriorating rooms as with some of the reviews. Water pressure seemed good enough for my long hair to rinse. Never had an issue with hot water.
Yes, you could hear everything going on in the hallways, but this is a hotel afterall. Put in the ear plugs and nod off. Never heard a peep from our neighbours.

The breakfast was fairly good. Only complaint was that they only had sausage patties both days we were there. Variety in meat selection would have been good. There was scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, cereals, yogurt, fruit and waffles too.

People with us used the pool and they said it was awesome. No complaints there.

When booking, keep in mind that this hotel is off a freeway or something and not easily accessible if you aren't able to hop into a vehicle and go. No shopping or restaurants close by. Taxis don't seem to want to go there either. Other than that aspect, it was a good mini vacation.
